Brussels Airlines vs US Airways

Considering the fact I wouldn't fly US Air anywhere domestically, I would definitely rule out international.

I once "dated" a US Airways stewardess for about 30 minutes.

I can't say the same for Brussels Airlines.

That being said, if "Riding Brussels Airlines vs Riding US Airways" means "FLYING... vs FLYING...", I would definitely go with Brussels Airlines.

I flew US Air from Philly to London, non-business related. I am not a frequent flyer on US Air so I flew coach. That sucked but I am not sure it would have been any better on Brussels Airline. I have flown Brussels Airlines in Europe and never thought they were anything special.

I would opt for Brussels Airlines just because I am an American Airlines frequent flyer and could earn miles.

I assume you're comparing two non-stop flights to Brussels? If so, you might as well go on Brussels Airlines to get into the European experience a few hours earlier. You won't be missing much on US Airways.

If you aren't already an AAdvantage member, go sign up before you book so that you can get credit for the flight. If you're going to go through the trouble of flying those miles, you might as well keep your options open for cashing them in eventually.

If you get your AA frequent flier number, you may be eligible for the "Gold Challenge". That is a quick way to get up to Gold Status for new members. You need 5,000 points in the first 90 days.

Usually, a cheap AA flight only gives you 1/2 point per mile towards the Gold Challenge, but a round trip to Europe from Texas will almost put you there. One more trip in the USA and you're there.

BUT... I don't know if you can fly a different airline and get credit for the Gold Challenge.

Brussels Airlines does not fly to the United States. You'll be on American going overseas. So the decision is whether or not you want to fly American or US Airways to Brussels.

Delta or United might be cheaper. Have you considered one of those options? A quick look at Yahoo Farechase brought up Delta as the cheapest and United as 2nd cheapest.

yeah last week or so US Airways was cheaper. I just checked again and now Delta is. That is why I asked about it.

How does Delta compare?
