Seriously, had his Vols made a run in the tournament, I think they would've kept him on. But getting thumped in the first round by Michigan? Expect an announcement in the near future.

I disagree. I think he was gone no matter what (no way they won it all but that and that only could be a changer) happened. Too much attention and it affected the team already.

Hmmm, maybe so. I still think a Sweet 16 or Elite Eight run could've bought him some time and forgiveness, but an embarrassing first-round loss?

No, I think Tressel did it much worse and with much greater consequence to the results of how their season went down. Pearl is amateur hour compared to the Vest on this.

Pearl is a piece of ****. He lied, lied, lied, and covered up his cheating (and he knew he was cheating) in an NCAA investigation. Only after he was caught with a smoking gun did he suddenly discover "honesty" and "remorse." Now he's throwing himself at everybodys mercy and telling everyone how sorry he is.

I hate that kind of crap. Lie until faced with overwhelming evidence, then suddenly you want to pretend you're a great guy who made a little mistake.

really? The AD cheated with you Bruce? and lied repeatedly with you Bruce?

can't stomach this guy, he could have/should have submitted resignation before playoffs started, would have looked a lot better.

LoL ... man, these last few posts kill me.

To be clear, I was not lamenting Pearl's probable dismissal in the OP; I just wanted to highlight what figures to be his final game at the helm.

Didn't Pearl turn in another coach/team for violations in the past? He is a greaseball in my opinion...
