I can't turn on the radio without hearing him talked about or interviewed. I can't watch ESPN without seeing him. Seriously!!! Enough!

Although I will say the story I saw about him on ESPN today was very touching.

Try living in Knoxville.

LOL. Glad his team lost. Now maybe they can stop spraying the air waves with coach of the year talk and point the spotlight back on Barnes who is more deserving. W-L record and record against top teams this year speaks volumes....especially when you consider they just lost the best player they ever had and multiple POY award winner Kevin Durant.

I like the guy and actually met him the week before they kicked out *** in Austin 2 years ago. However, after the debacle in Knoxville last year, I still have a bitter taste in my mouth. The constant whining during the game as the refs were - literally - giving the game to the Vols really pissed me off.
Another thing that y'all don't see being outside of Knoxville is his post-game stuff. He's a really bad loser. Obviously, it hasn't happened much this year but last year, after every loss, he'd blame the refs or some other unseen force. Literally, every game. Even after the Vandy loss last night, he replied in a very Aggie-esque way that they just "ran out of time."

I like him too. I guess I like more of his "fight" that he always seems to have in his coaching style and for his players.

I know he was in some NCAA troubles a while back. If I was an AD, that would keep popping up in my head if I was trying to make a decision on whether or not to hire him. I know he wasn't in trouble but it just looks bad. Ehh, good coach though.

I'm glad we have Rick.

I don't think there is any question about that.

It was either last year or the year before that he said, had he to do it all over again, considering the path he ended up on, he might have done something different.

But I don't think there is any question in his mind that Illinois cheated to get Deon Thomas.

I don't know what he truly believes, and I certainly don't know what truly happened, but I'm not a fan.

I understand that point of view, and I also don't know who was right. Sometimes (and in this case), I look at how the coach I follow acts... He agreed to a home and home with Pearl, and he agreed to play in a tournament in which he most likely would have to play against him.

I know there are a lot of other factors involved, but Barnes made deals with Lute Olson, and he made them with John Calipari. If he's OK with playing Pearl, when he doesn't have to, I think it's time to bury that one.

But I'm not Illinois, or Jimmy Collins, either.

I think he is a clown out there. Myself I favor coaches who are a little more classy out there and with the media. What Pearl did showing up painted orange a year ago and then grabbing Erin Andrews this year shows that he does not have class. I really enjoyed watching his Tim Duncan type looks at the referrees the other night as he lost on the road with his stupid orange jacket. He wants too much to be about him and less to be about his team IMO. Perhaps he is trying to get his name out there more so he can get some big interviews.
