and he thinks he can admit it, after he got caught, cry publicly and then every thing is okay. Seems to me he should be fired instead of defended. Sickening for a person in a "high" position to wave off such serious offenses and be allowed to go his merry way. The Link
Well, according to most up here, he deserves to be forgiven. I mean, he took them to the elite 8.
Apparently, he not only contacted recruits illegally, his staff actually purchased prepaid cellphones so as to cover their tracks. The NCAA asked him and his staff about it and he denied it. They then found a "stained dress" so he went to the AD and confessed. Piece of **** deserves to be fired.
Any fifty year old fat guy that gets half naked, paints his body and acts like a fool should be fired anyway. Oh wait, I think he was only 49 at the time. Never mind.
He's a bigger rat than Calipari. He snitches when it benefits him, and tries to get away with the same stuff. He's only a notch above Dave Bliss for not covering up any murders (that we know of).
It's not over the cell phones. It's that he has gotten all this pub over the years for being "one of the good guys" for ratting out Illinois, while doing whatever it takes to benefit his programs. He's a hypocrite, which is just as bad as others.
Texas fans at their best as always willing to jump on.
Do a little research instead of reacting to a post by others that are also misinformed . Cell phones waaaay ooout of line.
Just points to where the state of "sports" at the college world is at,reflects a lot of society as we know it.
But as an ESPN article stated "What program is perfect?" let it be an everyday process, or an omission by staff or by the NCAA rule book that is not easy reading. Sorry that I did not link the article.
I think that the manner in which the system was set up to circumvent rules and avoid detection is probably the biggest problem.
If you break a rule, get caught, and plead guilty, then you get a light sentence. Go out of your way to cover up your tracks before breaking the rule and lie about it later, then you get much harsher punishment.
