Browns look primed for a real run

Been a Browns fan since following my favorite Horn back in the day Metcalf to Cleveland. This season could be special for the Browns, absolutely stacked on O - some real players throughout the roster. Looking for great things from this team.

Derek Anderson, Braylon Edwards, Joe Jurevicius, Jamal Lewis, Martin Rucker, Donte Stallworth, Joe Thomas, Kellen Winslow, Josh Cribbs, Phil Dawson, and more.

On D: more question marks on this side of the ball, but still some solid players dot the roster. Shaun Rogers and Corey Williams together could be special. Shaun has been dominating camp.

For some reason I thought this was going to be about Curtis and Chykie, but I do agree that the Browns could have a really good team this season. I'm a Cowboys fan, but the Browns are one of the other teams I like to cheer for. I've always been a huge Dawson fan and I've become a big fan of what Derek Anderson has going with Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow. Jamal Lewis really picked his game up last season as well - hopefully he continue to have success in 09. And hopefully Suan Rogers will have a Pro-Bowl type year.

I thought it was in regards to the db's also, but am glad to see this post. At least I am not the only browns fan on this board. Hopefully they will give it hell this year and make the playoffs. If the defense comes through, especially in the secondary, they have a chance to to be really good.

Ahhh, Browns football. I have become a fan of the NFL in my years up here on the north coast because of this team. I grew up a fan of Pittsburgh (dad and brother were Cowboys, I was a contrarian). I have watched Mr. Dawson be the most prolific offensive weapon on this team since their return.

Browns look stacked but I do not expect too much performance out Winslow. The line is upgraded (McKinney gone I believe) and Anderson will prove more than serviceable. I think the defensive line and linebacker corp will prove a weak link in the chain. I don't have much faith in Romeo's defensive schemes and too often the offense will have to play catch up.

Special teams, rock solid. Cribbs, Dawson present a one-two punch from returns to field goals. This could be a difference maker.

However, I got to say that since Pittsburgh still has Casey Hampton, I am in that corner. My favorite D-Lineman of the past 15 years.

Pittsburgh and Cleveland is going to be a real battle this year. Those two teams are both going to be pretty good and I expect both teams in the playoffs.

Back when I was a youngster (~10 years ago) my brother inexplicably became a Patriots fan (they sucked at the time, and we were from south Texas, with no connection to the NE) Well, then the actually went to the super bowl in the late 90's. So I decided I would pick a ****** team to root for, and landed on the Browns. I knew nothing about them, and didn't care that they moved to Baltimore and were reborn. I even bought a hat, which I still have somewhere. I've been waiting for 0ver 10 years for the Browns to be good, just so I could rub it in my brothers face. I know I know, it's petty.

Let's see if, Let's see if...

could say that about any player on any team, thanks guys, I think the two mentioned will be fine, both had very solid years with nothing pointing to decreased production coming into this year.

next up. the key to the season will be to outscore the opponent.

Not to play debbie downer here, but i am just not buying the browns as a playoff team. I am thinking Derek Anderson needs to have another good year before i buy into them. Best of luck to them though.

I'm just saying. Throw injuries onto any featured back in the league, and that team will suffer. It's an easy and obvious response. Yes he's been injured in the past, which NFL running back has not been slowed by injuries? Jamal is a tank, is ready to go at 100%, and there is nothing that points to this guy breaking down in 08/09.

As far as DA - QBs swing up and down. Romo good example, freakin' Eli Manning who was pretty much confirmed to be The Suck, well, he swung up. I don't see him maintaining that level all year long next season, but has probably shown that he will be a good to great QB that will continue to help his team more than he hurts it. DA, no different.
