Brown water coming form my pipes

Seems brown water is coming from my pipes, but not all the time.

is this rust in the pipes? I live in a 7 story condo.

Any advice? it just started.

Is this my problem or the condo's problem (typically)?

... you live in New york... that's the natural color of the water....

I would imagine that you notice the brown water after you haven't used the water over a long weekend? If so then probably rust in the pipes, but good luck getting the assoicaiton to rip them out and replace them.

I would start looking at filters.... or just look at it as a new way to get your "iron"....

Actually NYC water is really clean and tasty, an interesting factoid I was informed about when I moved here.

I don't knwo my neighbos like all NYrs so i can't really tell if they have brown water.

Actually i know one so I'm goign to ask.

one of two things happened.. a rat died in the pipes and/or your "spare bimbo" went upper deck on one of your shitters..

possibly waterline constuction in the area - whnever this happens in our area, you'll get brown water for a day or so
