I just hauled *** up to Madison High School in the middle of a Tuesday at work and grabbed six reserved seats! I will also be DVR'ing the game whilst I'm loud and proud representing in my burnt orange. Gonna do a little BBQ'ing at the house beforehand with wifey, the kids and my homeboys The Dirty Whiteboy and Candyass to warm up. I heard from the coach I bought the tickets from that there will be tailgate type stuff going on as well. This will really help allay the football jones a week before the Horns tee it up. I'm stoked!
I look forward to seeing both these kids do their stuff. I view Aaron Green as a Ramonce Taylor type player (though I fully expect that he will not emulate him off the field) and that is a very, very good thing. We could find a spot and plenty of touches for this versatile playmaker - believe that!
After watching this, I really hope we get him. In a way he reminds me more of Eric Metcalf than RT because of the way he makes tacklers miss. RT was more of a straight line runner. Having him and Malcolm Brown will be like having Metcalf and Earl Campbell at the same time.
Looking at that film I agree with the Eric Metcalf comparison. That was one electric dude. I always thought he moved like a cat. One of the best players from UT that most people dont talk about anymore.
This was my first time watching Green's videos. He is very good and will make a very good college level back. However, with all the hype, I honestly expected more. He does not look like a once in a decade kind of RB. He is certainly quick, fast and gets up to speed quickly but the above videos are not any more impressive than Desean Hales HS videos.
Getting a commitment from him would be nice and I'd be glad to get him, but I must admit that I am now feeling even better about Malcolm Brown's commitment and realize we might never notice Green going somewhere else like we would Brown if he were.
Saturday will be interesting watching. Maybe Green will show more then.
MB was the no-brainer 1st choice, but I think Green is good enough that either might outdo the other this game, & that's a mighty high complement for Mr Green.
I agree that Aaron Green is not a once in a decade RB. But looking at the film, he's very versatile. Also, Metcalf wasn't a once in a decade guy either at running back. But both of these guys had to have someone on defense to account for him at all times.
Now, throw in Malcolm Brown, GG, Darius White, and Mike Davis. This will give DC's problems for a few years.
