I will not be posting regular updates, but I thought I'd at least get the game thread started.

Texas struck first with four runs--at least three of which unearned--in the bottom of the first. Jacob Felts with a big two-out, two-run hit that squirted between third and short for a hit.

Watching the game at TexasSports.tv. Audio feed is strange--no Craig Way (he's calling Texas hoops later tonight), no Keith Moreland (he go bye-bye).

But we've got Bill Little!

Anyway, through one, it's Texas 4, Brown 0.

Shepherd with a genuine RBI triple to dead center. Etier follows with a two-out single between short and third that plates another. Texas leads through three, 6-0.

I say genuine because most triples are the result of some unofficial error--like a misplay or an overrun on the outfielder's part--but this one went all the way to the wall between two outfielders. Perfect hit.

Still Texas 6, Brown 0 through six innings. After a bullish start, the Longhorns' offense has gone into hibernation. Jungmann keeps mowin' 'em down, however.

Weiss leads off the bottom of the seventh with a single and swipes two bags courtesy of a wild pitch and a wild throw to first.

Walla follows with a one-out walk. Another wild pitch brings Weiss home as Walla advances to second.

Texas 7, Brown 0. All of Texas' outs that inning on Ks.

Etier leads off the bottom of the eighth with a double. Montalbano pushes him across with a single to center. Texas now has 14 hits and an 8-0 lead.

Nuncio pitches a scoreless ninth in relief of Jungmann as Texas "holds on" for an 8-0, series-opening victory.

Jungmann now 4-0 on the season. Texas tallied a season-high 14 hits in just eight innings.
