breaking news

Firing Graham was a terrible move especially after we kicked some kitty but yesterday. Sumlin would be an even more terrible move. Epic fail.

Has he even been formally canned by aggy yet? If not, then ANY speculation would have been irresponsible by the media...

Texas and Michigan and other programs for that matter have learned the hard way that you don't fire a coach after a winning season with the program improving. Here at Texas we are still recovering from such a move. Michigan is also still trying to recover from Lloyd Carr firing. When are ADs going to learn. This is a textbook example of insanity.

I have a customer who is plugged into the ASU program and the administration. He told me a few weeks ago that he really hoped Graham would be around for a while. His argument was that Graham has effectively changed the culture at ASU, and that his challenge at the school is considerable given the disadvantage of the AZ schools to recruit versus USC, UCLA, Cal, Standord, Oregon, etc.

Graham was 46-31 during his 6 year tenure. Given the massive advantages associated with our program at Texas, I wonder how 46-31 compares to our record over the same period? (That was a rhetorical question.)

Great point. As a TX/ASU fan I would take Graham over Herman in a heartbeat.

Which coach did Texas fire with the program improving?

Firing Graham was a terrible move

Todd Graham is a chicken **** son of a *****, who could give Kevin Sumlin lessons in lying. He is such a piss poor excuse for a human being that I'd be ashamed to introduce him to your dog as a representative of the species.

You obviously don't know the person & I use the term loosely. I'd rather submit to Fenves wishes to hire Bill Clinton or Obama as HC. Is there a worse example of what class and character are not in all of coaching? NO! and I remind you that Schnellenberger, Beamer, Erickson, & Tressel are still alive and Pelini & Urban Myth are still coaching.

Don't hold back, go ahead and tell us how you REALLY feel! :yikes:

SH, I have heard this about Graham many times before but never was provided any specifics, other than lying to his players about staying when he had no intention of doing so at a previous job (perhaps Rice?). What's the story?

A typical example of Todd Graham integrity:

He is rumored to be leaving Rice, but goes to dinner at the home of University President with the AD. During dinner, he assures them that he is not leaving and not considering any other jobs. Twelve hours later, he is introduced as Tulsa's HC.

Not sure he notified Tulsa he was leaving before the press conference in Pittsburgh. Then he calls assistant to notify Pitt and his players that he's in Tempe and not coming back.

Those are for starters. His resume is always updated and sent out to all rumored openings.

There is a story about Tuberville while at Tech being at dinner with some recruits. He gets up from the table, says he has to take a call and walks away. Never returns. Next morning it is announced he is the new coach at Cincinnati.

I heard that; it's pure scum if true.

Sumlin officially Fired by aggy...

“Kevin Sumlin is out as Texas A&M's head coach after six seasons.

Texas A&M director of athletics Scott Woodward announced his firing on Sunday. The Houston Chronicle reported last week that Sumlin would be dismissed after the team's game against LSU on Saturday.”

Tuberville was a little different from Graham in that the administration was negotiating behind his back to replace him. Tommy is a good guy, and like Emory, he found a gig before he could be replaced. Tuberville became proactive before Tech could take his virginity. Graham was out to take the virginity of anyone he thought could benefit himself.

“Our expectations at A&M are very high," Woodward said. "We believe that we should compete for SEC championships on an annual basis and, at times, national championships. I believe that we need a new coach to take us there. On behalf of Aggies everywhere, my thanks to Kevin and his family for his service to Texas A&M. I wish him the very best.”

This is delusional -
Should read “competing for bowl eligibility on an annual basis, and for SEC west titles at times. “

I am not a he. And I meant Mack. National Champion and climbing back up since 11. Just not fast enough for the likes of impatient Orangebloods. We were 8-5 when he was fired. How many of us would take 8-5 about now after the dumpster fire that has been this program since 14.

(a) Tis but a social construct (but no offense intended)
(b) I would argue that the program has been a dumpster fire since 2010. If you include recruiting, as I would, then the fire actually began prior to 2010 even.

Perhaps, but it's looking like they're ready to give away the bank to find out.

10 was bad but we had 7 wins in 11 and 8 wins in 12 and 13. Program was on the way back up. Look I know that a lot of people don't like Mack but he is a legend and we haven't been competitive since. I will simply have to agree to disagree.

Sources w/knowledge of TAMU search process tell me Jimbo-Fisher has a deal to be next Head Coach @AggieFootball .Fisher will coach 1 final game at FSU but not Bowl game should they become eligible. I'm told his TAMU contract will be at least 5 yrs/7.5 million per year. @KPRC2
