Brazos Garage

I ended up in Brazos this year (I've been in San Jac, then LBJ for years). Any long time Brazos parkers with tips on easy entry and exit...?

1. How early before game time does MLK start backing up...?

2. Does it empty out efficiently...? Does everything empty on to MLK...?

we used to park in the Brazos garage way back when they first built it, and then it go too crowded and we moved, now I have passes for this garage after being in the Trinity last year. If you get to the game early enough park on the lowest level, as you can get out from that exit while most will exit on the side closest to Jester and no go down further. The biggest down fall will be the exit strategy as they didn't used to allow you to exit directly to MLK thus for us we would head back to Houston we would have to detour through Downtown.

Last year we did exit on MLK, but you could only go west, away from I-35. We then go all the way to Lamar and then north til well past the campus before heading back to I-35.
It is further, but a lot faster than sitting in traffic. FWIW.

P.S. I'm heading north to Dallas area. Not sure of a good route if headed south.

I parked there last year. Get there 30 minutes before kickoff, its going to take you a long time to get out. Get there 2 hours before kickoff, you'll get out in a few minutes. If you're heading out of town on I-35, going west on MLK sucks. You pretty much have to head to Lamar and head back to I-35 on Riverside to avoid the major traffic.

right now MLK/Lamar intersection is under construction. Hopefully it will be completed by the 1st game. If it isn't, it will be a loooong wait to get through that light.

Last year was my first year in the Brazos, and since we get to the games early (at least 2 hours before) we always got a good spot. You could only exit the garage by going west on MLK, which is great for me since I take Mopac home.

From the Brazos garage head west on MLK to Guadalupe, turn south to 15th Street, head west on 15th which turns into Enfield straight to MOPAC, head north on MOPAC (to Round Rock), head east on 45 (toll road) to I-35.

You may go a couple miles further, but there will be relatively very little traffic except for the backup to turn right from Enfield north to get on MOPAC. That Enfield/MOPAC intersection backup will vary depending on how early you get out of the Brazos garage.

By taking MOPAC/45 to Round Rock, you will avoid almost all the worst traffic on I-35. Not a bad deal for .75 cents.
