Does anyone know if this guy is still playing? I hear blurbs about Ivey and Tucker all the time, where is Moutons love?

I believe SLX, along with a few other posters (BiH? GOO?) lost the majority of their posts a few years back when a hornfans server went down.

I'll never forget that shot he hit against Tech in Lubbock to force overtime. Then, as usual, buried them in OT. Wish I had a clip of that shot.

That shot against Tech was unbelievable.

I think that's the last time one of Knight's Tech teams even made it a truly contested game against Texas. Knight just always seemed to deflate on the bench during games against UT after that.

Not sure why, but I did not develop the attachment to Mouton that you guys did. I thought he missed far more shots than he made, but maybe I'm not giving him a fair shake.

I think he was good at making tough shots and being physical. As stated, he bailed us out in some games. Without his offense against UConn in San Antonio, it's doubtful we make the Final Four trip.

But I didn't understand why everyone was so "boisterous" about his NBA chances, despite the facts that he was a tweener, a tad overweight, and couldn't dribble. I got blasted more than once on this forum regarding the "where will Mouton be drafted" posts from 4 years ago.

Couldn't dribble? Perhaps, but one thing he was good at that a lot of similar 2-guards weren't was shooting off the dribble.

He was Abrams-esque in his ability to quickly launch it. But I'll stand by the can't dribble comment. Whenever the ball was in his hands (I'm looking at you--KU Big Monday games that we lost) when we actually had to move the ball to get a scoring opportunity, he'd fumble it away.

Oh definitely in terms of how I remember him as a Longhorn and a team player. Without his ups and scoring, we'd be just another decent defensive team.

I was just referring to his NBA potential, and how he didn't have any.

He also had a MONSTER dunk against Tech in Lubbock that I thought for a moment would bring the backboard down.

It was freaking awesome. Mouton was a good player for us.

I said "far more." I would be interested, for example, in his ratio of total points to total shots taken. Reggie Freeman was another one that I did not get attached to for that same reason. But, I'm going on memory, and admitted I might not be remembering fairly.

He might have shot a little too much, but it was mostly because somebody had to take those shots and he was usually our #1 scoring option.

I feel like he could have made a very good living playing in Europe, so I was surprised when he quit bball altogether.

his career TS% was 53% btw, that's not that bad considering he was a good defensive player. (Durant was 59%, Augustin and Abrams about 57%)

Mouton is also one of my all time fav Horn player. Great attitude and team player. Too bad he chose not to play pro ball somewhere. I think he would have done very well for himself.
