It should be a good year getting to watch both Belt and Drew Stubbs in the majors. Belt is projected by many as the NL rookie of the year and Stubbs is widely considered to be a breakout player this year.
There's a new reality series on Showtime, a behind-the-scenes look at the San Francisco Giants this season. One scene in the preview episode shows the moment when Brandon learns he's made it to the majors (the scene starts just before the 24th minute):
I am friends with the father of a recent Horn player and
asked him about Belt. He said he is a humble, hardworking
guy who deserves everything he has worked for. Nice
to know.
Don’t like the Giants? They have a rich history of over 100 years representing two of the greatest cities in the USA; a combined six World Series titles and 21 NL Pennants; legendary players like Willie Mayes and Willie McCovey; and a gorgeous ballpark on San Francisco Bay. What’s not to like?
