I love the pool format. It's so ... European. It makes me nostalgic for World Cup soccer.

I say finish the season a week earlier, then play a good old fashioned double-elimination tourney, spread out over 8-10 days so that teams can try to win it and still not f*** up their pitching staff for the Regionals. Of course, to do that you'd have to move the start of the season back to where it was before the snow-aggies started griping....
