Bowl projections

Looks like Stewart Mandel is writing off the Horns for a bowl. He has the Pokes playing the aggies in the Texas bowl.

I DO NOT want to play aggy in the TEXAS Bowl

Phil Steele has Texas v. Florida in the Liberty Bowl and A&M v. West Virginia in the Texas Bowl.

I would love for this to happen.

Liberty Bowl is in Memphis so that would not be terribly far... and it would be cool to play FL and Coach Boom. UT all time record is 2-0 vs. FL but we have not played them since the 1940's if I recall correctly.

But bottom line - this team has to win at least 1 of 2 of the remaining games... so let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.

If we beat osu the worst we can do is 6-6, and the best osu can do is 6-6 (should they beat ou). We go bowling without question if we beat osu.

The author of the article must be thinking osu beats the horns.

Never want to play the aggy nose pickers again. Finished them off in proper fashion in 2011.

As I look forward to the bowl season I would love to see the SEC finish in the following fashion:

Alabama - Beats Miss St, loses to Auburn - two loses

Miss St - Loses to Ala & Ol Miss - two loses

SEC ends up with no one loss teams.

The Playoff committee would seem hard pressed to place a two loss SEC team above :
Undefeated FSU
One loss Oregon, Ohio State, Baylor, TCU.

Would be nice to have the first Playoff sans SEC.

If Texas played the Aggies in a lower tier bowl, it would sell out immediately. It would get the most coverage and best ratings for a lower tier bowl as well.

Hopefully, UT qualifies this weekend and busts that Aggie *** in a bowl game.

ESPN owns the Texas Bowl, they will make it happen, they don't own the Liberty Bowl. I bet there will be some behind the scenes deals going on.....

I don't ever want to play aggie in any sport but ESPN will do what it can to pull in those ratings on DEc. 29th.

I know that I am in the minority, but I would love to play A&M in a bowl game. I would also love to play them every year on Thanksgiving Day. It's just the way things ought to be.

I'm not in favor of seeing the Longhorns play the aggies in any sport. They made their bed, let them sleep in it.

No, if you ask an aggy they will pick an obscure date and will only count games from that point onward because they do not want to count time periods in which they suck which is almost every time period of aggy history.

"Since 2006 UT and A&M are 3-3 therefore our programs are equal. SEC! #WRTS WHOOP! " - aggy

I have too many aggy friends and know their idiocy i mean traditions too well

Playing them, win or lose, will just be more exposure to idiocy.

We have nothing to gain by playing them but a lot more to lose. We have such a ridiculous win/loss advantage on them it's hard to really call it a rivalry if competition is included in the definition. They spin it this way, that way and any possible way but it's flat out domination throughout the decades (short of when they cheated profusely).

We already have scoreboard on them in a gut-wrenching fashion. We don't need anything else from them. We have the many pounds of flesh collected over the years. If we beat them, we are supposed to. We are their Daddy. If they eek out a rare victory, damn, it will be horrible to endure.

The pizza boy will say "gig 'em" putting his tip into jeopardy. The guy that puts Armor All on my tires at the Car Wash will chatter noise. I don't want to have to look for a new person to mow my yards and collect large brush which I will have to do if the Ag's win.

Nah, no bowl game. It creates too much work for me.

We shouldn't play them as stated in this thread because we beat them on their sacred field with all the dead dogs watching. We weren't supposed to do that and they had celebrated all week how they would have eternal scoreboard plus getting to join the best conference ever.

So though it was killing them they started saying it didn't mater because they had bigger things waiting for them in the SEC. During the Manziel years they said they would play us anywhere and anytime. Then this year it was said in good old texags that they didn't want to play anymore.

So I say don't play them anymore until maybe someday a series of some kind can be worked out. It really wouldn't matter to me if we never play them again unless it can't be avoided in some playoff situation. Some low level bowl game is a no win situation even if we won. The worry for me is Patterson would love it just for promotion value and will agree to it eagerly.

They ran away. We can disagree about why, but they ran away.

IF we ever play them (I don't want to), offer a 12 game series: 6 in Austin, 4 in CS and 2 in Houston. One in Houston is their home game and the other is split 50 - 50.

And at least 2 are on the Longhorn Network. One on the SEC Network?

The vast majority of Aggies don't want to play the Longhorns either but it sure looks like we are on a collision course if the Longhorns beat Okie St.

The SEC gets to select who goes where, not the bowl and all indications are that they are going regional this year and that A&M is going to wind up in the Texas Bowl (which sucks) regardless of record. If you guys go 6-6, you are going to the Texas Bowl as well.

I don't like it (would much rather play a PAC 12 or BIG Ten team) and you guys don't like it, but it sure looks like it a very strong possibility and ESPN would love it.
