Bowl Edition: Predict Horns vs Colorado Buffaloes

Looking forward to one last game for Sam and to seeing the two headed running back machine of Bijan and Roschon. Defense will be without Ossai and Graham but has been getting better under Ash and has one more chance to show it is getting better. What the hell my brain says tommy terrific finds way to blow it but my burnt orange heart says:

Texas 38
Colorado 14

I will continue the Texas scores 38 consensus of this thread. With LonghornCatholic and FWHORN both predicting it, it must be true.

Texas - 38
Colorado - 26

I have a feeling we’re going to see a different attitude and philosophy out of Herman beginning with the Alamo Bowl.
He best be Conan the Destroyer singing New Attitude and start the off-season with a big margin of victory over Colorado.
Texas 45-17

I see Texas winning, but there's no evidence that a bowl win translates into something the following season.

Sugar bowl win was followed by a 5 loss season. The Alamo bowl win last year was followed by this failed season.

That said, any Pac team is going to be soft, whimpy, and terrible. Texas wins this one pretty easily I think, leading to a (3rd) offseason of "We're Back!!!"

My predictions:
Hermie wins his final game as coach at UT.
Sabre tears through a Macho at Madrid's.
Bevo bucks Ralphie into the Riverwalk.
Texas 45
Colorado 20

If memory serves, Texas was the underdog in each of Hermie's first three bowl games as coach, and his performance as dog vs. favorite is well-documented. Now, for the first time in his tenure here, he's entering a bowl game as the favorite and playing a team he should arguably dominate.
Knowing how he does when he "should" win, I may need to update my prediction...

Why do people think CU is terrible ?
They held two of their opponents to less than 14 points.
CU put up 35+ points on UCLA and Stanford....Both those teams have better athletes than most of the teams Texas played.
Without Ossai Texas' defense will not be very good. They only have 9 days to get that defense ready to play without Ossai, Graham, and some of the DBs who bailed.
Look at OU's defense without Perkins compared to OU with Perkins...Night and day !!!
Colorado 48
Texas 38

Maj,

Their offense features two RBs from private schools in Texas. Has there ever been a private school RB worth offering?

This is pretty much what I was going to say. In my opinion the only way we win this game is to have a very controlled offense and keep the ball away from CU. I just don't see us winning a shootout type of game.

I am reluctant to put a lot of stock into some of the early season games for a program like Colorado. They went from Spring to being told no season and then all of a sudden, yeah, you have some games. THEN other programs got to go straight to altitude without much pre-season...on top of the other stuff.

And, I believe the PAC12 was massively over-rated this year, see USC v Oregon.

I don’t think CU is that good this year, but there’s not a lot of data.
Horns 42
Buffs 28

I will probably stick w my prediction....but I have second-guessed it (the score not the winner)....To say Texas will be missing some starters is a gross understatement. Some indications have us missing as many as 9+- starters....4+- on offense and 5+- on defense.
That is 9 out of 22 or roughly 41%+- for aggy or those bad with numbers.
I'm leaving it 45-17 on belief that Sam, Bijan, RJ and WR corps(assuming the first 3 play) will get us yards and points in spite of oline and that our depth at defense (other than linebacker) will show itself

Alamo Bowl will provide glimpse into the future for depleted Texas team

If the defense plays tight, I think Herman has no choice but to come up with some dynamic schemes on offense. He will try every trick he has to light it up.....not so much to win, but keep orange fans from torching his house.
