just made my flight reservations. whats the best place to stay in boulder, and other than the coors tour, what else is there to do on thursday and friday before the game?

The Millenium Harvest House is walking distance to the stadium, has a big "back yard" type area with lots of pregrame festivities, and a sports bar to watch games before and after. I didn't stay there last time but I've got reservations there for this time.

panther -

when i come home for games, i like to stay in louisville. it is one exit from boulder, and allows EASY access to boulder combined with the happy circumstance that you can jet to it on the northwest parkway, and not get clogged down in the slower traffic in boulder.

they have the typical range of hotel chains - we like the marriott.

have a great time in boulder, and i hope you will consider stopping by our gater! don't forget your orange.

readn where the millineum has service from the airport to the hotel. is there a reason to need a car or will local transportation suffice.

if you are at the harvest house, and are committed to staying within a couple miles of that location, there is no need for a car.

boulder has great city transportation, and walking is the thing to do.

A few years ago before the CU game, we stayed in Beaver Creek, 10 miles west of Vail, and really not a bad drive from Denver and then to Bouldr after the stay. We rented a 3 bedroom condo in the Elkhorn Lodge there. Went over to Vail to sitesee, as wll as siteseeing in the Beaver Creek area. Beaver Creek

Went over to Boulder on Saturday and participated in the UT Alumni festivities in the Millenium. We stayed at a Motel 6 close by (quite a contrast from Beaver Creek!)which I would not recommend. Book the Millenium for Sat. night.
We went to the old part of downtown Boulder that night. Lots of places to go there.

About an hour drive SW of Boulder is Blackhawk, Colorado, where there are a lot of casinos/hotels if you are into that.
Blackhawk, CO

To take in more of the sites, another idea would be to stay in Estes Park, which is about 40-50 miles from Boulder, and take in Rocky Mtn. Natl Park.
Rocky Mountain National Park

Estes Park

Frisco or Breckenridge would also be worth investigating.
