Bought a New TV, Question About Surge protection

I bought a 2nd TV, an inexpensive Samsung 32" 720P LCD for $550. When I brought my primary TV a few years ago (52" Toshiba 1080i), I bought a "power supply/surge protection" box for a couple hundred dollars. I have my DVD player, my TV, my cable box, and my surround sound receiver all plugged into that box.

My question is- what do I need for surge protection for the new TV. Would a surge protector be enough? I am not using a home theatre with it (it's in the bedroom). Note- I am switching to AT&T U-verse in a couple of weeks, so now the video signal will be coming through the phone line, and some kind of cable box/like thing.

Thanks.

As long as you aren't buying the white 15.00 strip at the store you should be fine. I would buy a Panamax or a Belkin unit. We had the guys from Panamax in the store about 4 months ago and were telling us about surge protection. They claimed that their unit at 69.00 does the same thing as the unit at 600.00 for surge protection. The difference between the units is the amount of filitration between the units.
Just don't buy the cheap units.

If you own you place, having an electrician install a whole house surge protection at the breaker box doesn't cost that much.

Nevermind, now it is down to $449 at Fry's.

$100 will get you a nice surge protector. I saw this tv at Best Buy for the $550, they will refund you the difference plus 10% if you bring the ad in. Fry's has locations in Austin and Houston as well as Dallas.
