Boston snow tire question...

A customer is moving to Boston and has an on demand 4WD Honda CRV, with excellent Michellin tires, or excellent for Austin highway driving. She wants to know if she needs different tires up there.
Do you need snow tires, or chains, or do most people use regular tires, or maybe a dog sled? Thanks in advance to the denizens of the frozen north.

I think you'll find a lot of people either run true all-seasons or spring for an extra set of rims and have dedicated summer/winter tires.

I've seen the extra rims and tires thing in E. WA, but hadn't noticed in when in MA.

If your customer is going to be mainly living in the Boston area and not required to travel around NE in the winter, regular ties on an all AWD CRV will be plenty.

Grew up in Vermont and I always used all-season radials, which was fine... at least for all the *paved* roads
