or maybe it was just a gas line explosion
 
Definitely explosive devices (multiple) unless the news is way wrong. I'm sure there will be speculation but maybe a while before we know who did this. Could have been worse but still sounds like some serious injuries.

I hope the death toll stops at 2.

Seriously though it makes you wonder if this was a random act or if there was a reason behind the timing of it, or if this was in fact a member of some group. Sadly, these days I don't know if you can rule anything out! It sounds like this could have been much worse - I havent' heard of fatalities yet, or did I miss that?
 
rumors of a potential suspect that went to the ER and was acting funny...supposedly a Saudi national, we shall see.
 
I am watching the responders/EMS people as they are racing through the streets pushing wheelchairs and rolling beds and it is amazing how heavyset (some bordering on obese) so many of the EMS folks are. This is the most running that many of them have done in years, it appears. I would hate for one of them to have a coronary while trying to respond.
 
Patriots day in Boston, tax day, same city as the tea party, could see it being domestic. It also wasn't a suicide bomber which seems to be a middle eastern thing.
 
Musberger I've thought the same thing. As far as I'm concerned, I can only think of divine providence as a reason that terrorists aren't just driving up to the airport departure curb and detonating there. There's too many easy ways to kill large numbers of people in a free society. It's sad that sometimes "it's better just not to think about it" is the only thing you can do as an individual.
 
Saudi suspect? I've been following this fairly closely and have heard nothing regarding a foreign terrorist, other than unsubstantiated speculation. Let me guess, Fox News?
 
Sometimes a "person of interest" is really a suspect and sometimes the sheerest of coincidences "links" them to a crime. In a rush to be first, or afraid of being scooped, the media produce more ******** than a 100 acre feedlot. I can wait for my news until somebody actually knows something.
 
Third Coast - you put it out there that is was more likely a Tea Partier. You are an example of what is wrong with this country. A tragedy happens, and everyone tries to get their "enemies" blamed. Pathetic.
 
The term Third Coast used was "domestic terrorist" -- a very broad description that doesn't seem overly specific or divisive to me . It's not like Tea Party members are the only ones who draw inspiration from liberty-loving Bostonians so key to the founding of our country. Plus, the Tea Party is actively engaged in the legislative process and affecting political debate and outcomes. It's usually the ones who don't use the system that are most likely to be violent.

Remember when they found the SUV rigged with explosives in Times Square and Bloomberg blamed the tea party? That incident turned out to be Islamic Terrorism and I'd bet that this is too, but, of course, the guberment doesn't have the balls to call it that.
 
CNN - -- An injured Saudi student who was questioned after the bombing was a spectator at the race and was running away from the scene because of his injury, another U.S. official told CNN. The student was interviewed by authorities "but it came up empty. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time." CNN just waited to make sure they didn't offend anyone. Several other outlets claimed the Saudi as a person of interest. But don't let your hatred of the right blind you to any opinions but your own......

Another thing that jumps out, both now and following Sandy Hook, is the incredible amount of disinformation. It's bad enough when the press doesn't get the facts correct, but I listened live Monday afternoon as the Boston Chief of Police stated a bomb had detonated at the JFK Library. Then you had the reporting about 5 other bombs, and a Saudi National. At Sandy Hook, they misrepresented the which weapons were used and several other facts.
