I think I remember them selling at Reliant vs CU.

What is the policy? Will there be beer available in all sections in Dallas?

Will be beer o plenty at JerraWorld. To the tune of $1 an oz. The policy is, non NCAA sanctioned events = beer

Both Big 12 Championship games I've been to, (both CU) Texas Stadium & Reliant, sold beer and not just on club or suite levels.

Since 2005, the only place you can buy alcohol at the B12 championship is in the club/suite level of the host stadium...this is a Big 12 rule, not an NCAA one...

Yes, as I recall we (the dirty, unwashed, huddled, non-club masses) weren't allowed to drink beer at the B12 CCG at Reliant in 2005. We flasked into the game.

But, I'd be surprised if Jerry signed a contract with the B12 that would prohibit alcohol sales to the general seating at that event, he would stand to lose a lot of revenue if that were the case.

NCAA Sponsored Event = No beer to general seating
Bowl Games are not sponsored by the NCAA = Beer is sold.

Example
Big 12 Championship at Alamodome you could not buy beer. 4 weeks later during the Alamobowl you could buy beer.

Jerry will have a tent outside or sell it out of back of his car if he has to. But he will find a way to make some money.

Nevada and Cincinnati also sell beer at their on-campus stadiums...I think you may be able to get liquor at Nevada...

Yes,Ag bud said Beer was 8 dollars for the aggie game. I called the Guest Services Hotline at (817) 892-4161 and they told me both NCAA football games this year they sold beer every where and that it would be the same for the Big 12 beatdown.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...Texas fans ****** that up with our poor showing in 2001 at Texas Stadium.

And, to reiterate, there is no NCAA rule except for officially sanctioned events (March Madness, football playoffs). From there, it goes to the conferences. Some conferences such as the Big XII forbid beer sales at Big XII regular season games. (I'm not sure if that only applies to conference games, or if non-conference is different.) Both the Aggy-Arkansas games and OU-BYU games were not Big XII games. They were Arkansas and BYU home games, I'm pretty sure.

The Big XII has had different rules for their championship games, as evidenced by the experiences of people at different games. I'm not sure what they will do this year, but it will be up to the Big XII and would not surprise me at all if it once again is limited to specific areas. Those specific areas are typically ones that have separate liquor licenses from the rest of the stadium, such as club level sections.

San DIego St. plays at Qualcomm. You can buy beer at Aztecs games.

San Diego St. plays basketball at a terrific on-campus arena. Up until a couple of years ago, you could buy beer there too. Then the Chancellor of the State University system decided to ban all alcohol sales on campus (which means the on-campus bar at my alma mater, Cal Poly Pomona was shuttered).

So, it's not just the NCAA or conference that regulates things.

I had regular (non-club) seats for the 2005 B12 CCG in Reliant. They were not selling alcoholic beverages inside the stadium anywhere that I could access. I heard it was available in the Club and/or in the Suites, but I had normal tickets and it was definitely not available to us.

You aren't going to be able to buy beer at JerryWorld for the B12 title game outside of the club/suite areas...

Called the Big 12 headquaters and they said YES that beer would be sold at all locations in the stadium not just suites/club seats.

All I know is that I drank beer at the Big12 championship in Texas Stadium. I didn't need to drink any inside-the-stadium booze at any other Big12 championships I've attended.

Re: San Antonio vs. Nebraska -- I did enough drinking at the tailgate before the game to negate the need for any booze inside the venue.

you people need to be focused on NEBRASKA, not whether you can consume alcoholic beverages at this game. we need positive vibes and the highest level of focusness. Please see BIS for any futher thoughts.

I don't have an answer but wanted to correct the $1.00 an ounce comment--at Cowboys games the Miller Lite 16 oz bottles are $8 and the draft beers they sell at the concessions are roughly the same price but you get more flavor options (Shiner and a few others). Liquor is pricey--I think $12 a drink but beer is roughly the same rip-off as it is at any other stadium/event like that.
