Book People

OK, so, I do my part to support local businesses. Only buy my CDs at Waterloo, eat at local restaurants probably 98% of the time, etc. But every time I go to Book People, they are out of stock of the book I am looking for. And most of the time, it's a book that's still rather new/popular/still on the NYT bestseller list, etc.

They say to go online and order it, but the arrival dates available are always days, sometimes a week longer than Amazon or B&N.com. Plus, their website sucks and is difficult to maneuver.

BP is a great company, I just wish they'd get their stuff together: new website, better stock, etc.

Have you told them this? In a well worded email or letter tell them. Let them know how you prefer to patronize local businesses but if they make it hard, you have to go with what you can. You don't want to but may have to sometimes.

Tell 'em the reason you are letting them know is that others may feel the way you do but give up on them and you don't want that to happen. They may have a weak link somewhere and need to fix it or replace that person.

I have told employees, but a letter to the manager may be helpful to them. Good suggestion.
