Bond and Holmes

Will be starting over Chapman and Wangmene by conference play. Based on all the clips and conversations I've seen on LHN and heard from guys in the offseason workouts, we can't afford to keep guys off the floor who will keep opponents honest on both ends of the floor.

If I'm wrong, it'll be because one of the seniors underwent some hugely positive transformation.

Oh, and they said we'll play a lot like Temple (lots of shot clock control and using motion to create open shots). And that Gibbs looks a lot like Paulino.

Should be an interesting season. Expectations are lower than at any time Barnes has been here and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

And, assuming both Bond and Holmes aren't ready to leave after one season, adding Ridley to the frontcourt would make us freaking unstoppable. The lineup of Ridley, Bond, Holmes, Brown, and Kabongo (with McClellan, Felix, Lewis, and the other freshmen coming off the bench) could be pretty epic. Funny how we'll go from no depth in 2011-12 to tons of it in 2012-13.

Well, the rookie scale might take more of a hit than previously thought with the ongoing NBA labor dispute. Who knows? Maybe we'll go like 17-14 this year and he'll have unfinished business

I always thought Chapman was a bit underrated. I'm not saying he will be better than the incoming guys, but I felt he was more efficient when he was on the floor than Dexter Pittman. Yeah, Dexter got drafted by the Heat, but he wore down too quickly, and he was very one dimensional. Chapman seemed to bring an infusion of energy every time he entered the game, and helped on both ends of the floor.

I don't know if either Holmes or Bond are well suited for the 5 role. Bond is looking more and more like a guy who is moving his game more outside than inside, and the current recruiting class with all the 4/5s (and maybe Edosomwan to be added on top of Ridley, Ibeh, and Lammert) reflects that.

I'm guessing Wangmene/Chapman share most of the post duties, with Holmes and Bond splitting the 4 and Bond also spending some time at the 3 when McClellan rests.

McClellan is also more likely to still be a starter in 2012-13 than an option off the bench.
