I hope Brian is a good judge of talent. 65 days left to find out.

I've heard nothing but good things about Williams. If he could step in and be a reliable 3rd option at receiver immediately, we're set in our passing game.

I've seen Earl Thomas a few times on film, including one of the HS All-Star games. To me, he's the most impressive of our '07 Freshmen DB's, which is saying a mouthful.

I think he's going to be a multi-year starter in the secondary. It's good to see him getting praise from a veteran on the defense.

6 foot 3, 225 lbs - Malcolm Williams.

Yeah, that's a WR frame if you ask me. If he can run routes and separate, he'll be special.

In only know this about Malcolm: in the 2009 season of my dynasty in NCAA 08, he dominated out of the slot. Linebackers couldn't run with him and defensive backs couldn't bring him down.

So there's that.

Malcolm Williams will get great shot at starting WR along with Brandon Collins.

Earl Thomas should be starting safety. He was impressive in fall last season so can't wait to see what this kid can do. Imagine if we could have a kid start for 4 years in a row at the safety spot. Ben Wells is my other pick for starting safety. Similar to Thomas he was impressive in fall and spring but decided to redshirt. I think he has even more talent than Thomas and could be another 4 year starter back there. Add in Christian Scott who seems to be improving and you could have basically 3 starting safeties in same class.

This group of DBs will be very similar to the Ced Griffin, Huff, Mike Griffin, Brown, and Ross backfield we had in 2004-05. It'll take them a season or two to get there.

Let's just hope Wells avoids the Aaron Harris crew that almost got him in trouble.

That is encouraging news from a teammate. Williams, Whittaker and Thomas are in the three slots where fans had some of their greatest concerns. Hopefully these kids answer a lot of questions.

this thread makes me feel alot better about this season. i can't wait!

lets hope:

Earl Thomas + Ben Wells + Christian Scott + Aaron Williams + Chykie Brown + Deon Beasley + Curtis Brown + DJ Monroe = Michael Huff + Cedric Griffin + Aaron Ross + Terrell Brown + Nathan Vasher + Michael Griffin

These DBs played in 2001-2003 together. Edorian McCollough even played impressively as a true Frosh but left the team after only one year.

It was a good thing these guys did not play some last year and waste a year of eligibility. Beasley, Brown, and Brown are the young guys that played and will bring some experience to the field this year.

#1 That the young man is a true freshman and is 6 foot 3, 225 lbs with speed is remarkable.

#2 Also guy, it isn't "the shoe......at night", you need to say it the way OSU posters do in an attempt to intimidate you, it is ............."THE SHOE AT NIGHT !!!!"

unclerico:"nobody will ever win again at the shoe...at night. "

If they would just leave you in in the 4th quarter, maybe things would be different up there... at night
