Bob Dylan Show at Dell Diamond

Anyone go to the show last night? I went, and it was pretty good overall. Dylan was good. Charlie Sexton played lead for the whole show. Willie was good too. Ray Benson joined him for the show.

John Cougar was...John Cougar. He could have at least thrown us a bone and played Jack and Diane. But, no. At one point, he asked the crowd if they wanted to hear a new song. Everyone yelled "No".

He also claimed he had a sore throat because the air was so dry down here. Said in Houston they had the driest air he's been in. ???

As is the usual case, WilCo cops (RRPD) were being a bunch of dicks and pulling people out of the crowd in front of the stage and arresting them for smoking weed. Paraded a group of two couples (late 30's/early 40's regular looking couples) in handcuffs right past our section. A couple of guys in the next section over booed at them, and they pulled them out and took them out as well. Some guy sitting behind me said he asked one of the cops why they got arrested, and he said "Smoking dope. This ain't Travis County."

Good time overall. The sound and sightlines were both pretty good. Everything was exactly on time. Food/beer lines sucked for ones that had draft beer. Otherwise, you could by 16oz aluminum bottles of Bud products (or Ultra) for $7 if you were so inclined.

I will see this show at Jones Stadium in Lubbock on Saturday.

Never seen any of the three live before.

Probably, the smell from the feed lots will mask the smell of the weed..

Got my ACDC tickets for later this Fall at the Erwin Center also.

I've never seen Angus Young and the others before either.

Tom- They laid down some sort of hard plastic floor over most of the outfield. The infield was barricaded off. We sat in the seats on third base side and could see perfectly.

Thoroughly enjoyed the show. And for those dumb enough to smoke dope on the outer edge of the crowd in broad daylight during what was described as a family friendly event in WilCo...well, the dope has burned your brains cause you're stupid.

Overall, we had a good time too. Willie sounded like he just wanted to get through his set because of the heat. But, the dude is old, so I'll give him a break.

Mellencamp sounded really good. His voice was a bit raspy due to a cold (so he says). But, overall, the band was tight and sound was good.

We didn't stick around for Dylan. Just not one of my favorites, so we beat the rush and headed home early. From what friends told me, we didn't miss much.

Got tix out front for $40 each. Not bad. We sat in the grandstand and had a good view. I hope they host more shows.

I guess it might be a good time to post about the sheriffs kid that had a ton of weed and coke on her, ran from the cops and and got...... probation....

Williamson Country is probably the most corrupt large county police force in Texas.

It's not just the police force there either, more like the whole system.
