for Pete's sake the man's name is Mus-CHAMP, not Mus- Kamp!! That was pissing me off all game!
And it's Quan Cosby, not Crosby! Pretty sure he was saying Acho wrong as well
I agree that sports announcers should pronounce all the players' and coaches' names right, but given that they have to cover 200 names per week (100 players/coaches x 2 teams), that's quite a chore to do. How many Longhorn fans (who couldn't give a crap about any other teams) can pronounce every Longhorn player's and coach's name correctly?
I thought it was great when he said, "...now, keep your mind on the game, Colt..." when McCoy was talking to a female trainer after he'd come out in the 4th.
horsecrap, it's just reading their name. it's not like I'm bitching that he mispronounced "Ogbonnaya". Cosby vs Crosby is not that difficult to distinguish
I have NEVER heard anyone say, "Sweet! Bob Davie is calling the game tonight."
He doesn't have to LEARN 200 names. He has to READ them. Good job Bob Darvie.
I agree that Boob Davies (and I forget the female sideline reporter's name) should be able to distinguish between Cosby and Crosby. It's not like Quan is part of that famous folk/rock supergroup.
I kinda like Davie. An occasional name blooper doesn't bother me, but he's a much less annoying commentator than many. I'd rather listen to him than Musburger or Lapham. He usually gives pretty good defensive analysis at least.
Yea, but they seldom identified the tackler.... too busy talking over the action.
With so many new guys I would have liked to have them pay a little more attention to who number 42 was. The camera was on him for at least 4 seconds after they play and they did not notice.
What I don't understand is why NO ONE in the booth- spotter, director, partner, ANYONE had the balls to tell him what the correct name was. I guarantee everyone else knew it was MusCHamp.
