Klinsy appears to be a good choice, considering that half the US team is German anyway....
Do y'all really think a new coach is going to magically make the US better? Bob did about as well as anyone could with the talent he has.
The US' problems aren't manifested in the decision of who coaches the national team. When soccer ceases to be an elitist sport in this country, then the US can move forward. Until then, expect more of the same.
It's no wonder US Soccer has to scour other foreign leagues to find players who might have a connection to the US.
Still no official word, but reports are it's Kilnsmann.
No shock. It's a good move and probably a year overdue. But I agree with the previous post...anyone expecting Juergen to walk in and work miracles with these players is in for a rude awakening. His greatest contribution will come in what he does for the youth development programs.www.nj.com/soccer-news/index.ssf/2011/07/jrgen_klinsmann_is_us_soccers.html
1899 the problem is not that Bradley didnt make the US elite, its that he had a hard time keeping the US from being below average. He didnt get out of the talent he had what was possible. He was a last minute goal against Al freaking geria away from being fired a year ago and his coaching ineptness against Ghana is still infuriating. Lets not even talk the most recent Gold Cup fiasco.
I respectfully disagree. The US is just not as talented as most people think. Bob sucked the marrow out of the talent he had. They US played with a lot of guts, and against most teams in this region, that is enough.
Clint Dempsey is easily the best player for the US, but somehow can't get a sniff outside of Fulham. He is now Fulham's all-time leading goal scorer, which is akin to Crash Davis breaking the Minor League Home run record.
