BO? When should I expect your phone call?

"You don’t know my telephone number, but I hope your staff is busy trying to find it. Ever since you called Sandra Fluke after Rush Limbaugh called her a slut, I figured I might be next. You explained to reporters you called her because you were thinking of your two daughters, Malia and Sasha. After all, you didn’t want them to think it was okay for men to treat them that way.
"But here’s why I’m a little surprised my phone hasn’t rung. Your $1,000,000 donor Bill Maher has said reprehensible things about my family. He’s made fun of my brother because of his Down’s Syndrome. He’s said I was “f—-d so hard a baby fell out.” (In a classy move, he did this while his producers put up the cover of my book, which tells about the forgiveness and redemption I’ve found in God after my past – very public — mistakes.)"

will BO call?

No chance. Does not fit is politics, obviously. Bill Maher can say crude things about anyone on the right that he wants. Just keep the money flowing.

So Barack Obama the President of the United States should call Bristol Palin because of comments that a comedian Bill Maher has said on his TV show? Perhaps she should be asking Bill Maher to call her.

And Maher did not contribute to Barack Obama's campaign fund. I believe he contributed to a PAC that supports President Obama.

This logic is false and ridiculous.

The President won't condone his base, no matter what they say or do. You know full and well that only the Left is allowed to spew vitrol and hate with impugnity, while Limbaugh and the like get death threats for their poorly chosen words.

Anyone that thinks otherwise is simply enjoying the warm air underneath Obama's skirt.

I don't think it's very Presidential for any president to get involved in what the children in American politics are up to. I'd prefer for all the idiots like Rush and Beck to get the f off the airwaves because they have a tendency to stir up stupid people who aren't fans of real information.

But, if you were keeping score, I've watched or listened to both shows, Bill Maher has conversations about real topics in between his occasional child like comments- whereas that is the only thing Rush/Beck/Hannity do is vomit what is inside their head. I could care less who said what and how it relates to another idiot who said something different about the other side- if anyone here says they listen to these guys on a regular basis, I probably just won't care what you have to say if you genuinely treat these guys as a source for analysis in your life.

mcbrett, if you're keeping score, then it's "President calls grown woman with social agenda-1", "President doesn't call teenager unwillingly in the spotlight-0"

I do agree that the President shouldn't stick his nose in matters such as these as a precedent, but since he went public and played into the charade that Pelosi lined up, then he should reciprocate his actions to bystanders affiliated with Conservative alignment and apologize for the mud thrown in their direction, too.

FWIW, I don't listen to Bill Maher, nor Limbaugh or Fox News. I get my news from ESPN, like any self-respecting American should.

dalhorn,

it's president calls a woman who testified at congress and had nothing to do with the partisan idiots, and doesn't call the daughter of a woman who volunteered to put herself and her family in the spotlight. In no way did President Obama get involved with partisan idiots like beck, rush or even maher.

Secondly- this crap happens every week, this event was just bigger than normal. Credit goes to most Presidents most of the time for ignoring it. I'll say guys like McCain, and G HW Bush were some of the classiest statesmen around who not only avoided Rush etc, but told their Constituents to stay above the fray as well.

Guys like 6721 can keep the score on the partisan clowns- and you and I can stick to ESPN like we should for our news!

I agree with you, mcb. Bush is as classy as a politician can be. I've had the opportunity to work with a charity he supports, and hunted with him once as well--the thing that I notice about him is that he never said anything negative, about anything.

Fast-forward to now, and there's a void in civility and class in politics that has never been rivaled.

But, to correct your tally, Fluke did not "testify" before Congress. She spoke to a Congressional side party, with the media cameras at full attention, so I'd qualify that as volunteering oneself into the spotlight just the same as Palin did.

Good research, Michtex. Still, Obama's quote does not mention any apology, just reminding the pundits of the low-bar that needed to be respected.

How wicked of Obama to call a woman who was vilified by a demagogue on national radio. Thanks to Horn6721 and other astute, unbiased observers for setting his kind gesture in the proper perspective.

I look forward to more fair, unbiased reports and comments.

So President Obama only supports the liberal women of this country not the conservative, single mothers of the world?

I would think the President would morally support all women of the United States of America, guess not.

Brilliant deduction. How do you arrive at that conclusion?

ps There's a clue in Michtex's post above. Your conclusion is baseless.

tv
you really had to work yourself up and totally misrepensent the OP didn't you?

did ANYONE say it was wrong of bo to call the fluke chick>
Did Bristol Palin say that? ( you know the person quoted in the op?)

Deflect Defeclt.

And the liberal loses again.....Wha Wha.....
wtf.gif

How ridiculous is your argument?....sad really sad.

It is quite obvious that Obama is a two faced flat out liar and does not have the best interest of the United States of America and he continues to prove it time and time again.

Accept it, you support the worst President in history going back at least 150 years if not in the entire history of the United States.

To be fair and magnanimous, I think we should create a ministry of "offensive stupid crap people famous at least 15 minutes say in public" and make sure the the president apologizes to the offended and chastises the offenders during White House Press briefiings held at least twice a week. Should the initial budget be $10 million a year or so? Maybe we could save money by having the offensive speakers self-report?

Perhaps we can also change federal election laws so every one who seeks or holds high office can meet requirements to appropriately respond to stupid crap said by supporters and detractors. Obviously, the deficit, defense, education, America's competetiveness in the world are unsolvable issues and we should all be working within our " circle of influence" which is the fairness or unfairness of public utterances. Bristol Palin may be just as smart as her momma.
