BO WH TRIES to deny WWII Vets

Horn6721

Hook'em
access to their WWII Memorial.
of course we know they broke through the barricades with their help of their Congress people
The ones coming today and into the further have been told by they ' could face arrest".
That should go well
The Link

"The White House and the Department of the Interior rejected a request from Rep. Steven Palazzo’s office to have World War II veterans visit the World War II memorial in Washington, the Mississippi Republican told The Daily Caller Tuesday."

edit
I changed the thread title to reflect reality. Silly BO and minions. Today with Vets from Chicago should be a great show.

BO appears to be doubling down
if this Wash Examiner pic from 6:22 this morning is accurate

I bet which ever groups of Vets visiting today are actually looking forward to their visit today. Silly BO to think tape and plastic ties can stop these men who faced the worst of Hitler and Tojo

I heard on the Bill Bennett show that Ron Paul tweeted that Obama sent 7 guards to keep vets out -- two more than were guarding Benghazi !!!!!

Interesting piece in Wall Street Journal on Obama's rule in Washington. Pointed out the nature of politics: compromise, negotiation. Johnson was one of the best at it. Reagan found a way to do it.

BO hates the military as much as he hates the Constitution and the United States itself. He is doing a bang up job in destroyng all 3. Watch what he does, not what he says.

it is all theater, folks

non essentials like parks and monuments get shut down in this theatrical game of chicken between the chickenshit parties, so one side runs a bunch of sympathetic old geezers into a shut down location and dares the government to arrest them.

great political theater

Hu fan-

Are you trying to say that the Tea Party led Republicans are open to compromise but don't have a willing partner?
wtf.gif

huisache- I'm in 100% agreement. It's all theater as shown by Senator Reid's release of the Boehner office email to exempt Congress from ObamaCare only now taking the exact opposition position claiming the Democrats want special rules for Congress. This was bad form by Reid's office but shows that NONE of the public positions of any politician should be believed. There's always an ulterior motive.

Obama and the DNC are out to make entitlements to the low information people thereby adding to their voting constituancy. They are transforming the nation into one where the citizens are made up of persons of the lowest denominator. I heard this and totally agreed with the statement.

they want to make entitlements to low income people to make them more compliant? I thought they were appealing to working class people who can't afford insurance and all people who can't get it because the nice insurance companies wont insure people with pre existing problems . I paid $980 a month for a high deductible state pool plan for one person, me, and most people can't afford that for themselves, much less their families.

A lot of the current state of the art medicine is available because of federal r and d money, so why should only people who are loaded with money or work for the governmenbt or have insurance through their employers be covered, And the other fifty million or so who aren't poor enough to qualify for medicaid get to just take their chances

Obamacare is a rube goldberg contraption and is going to be a tangle for a good while. Like medicare was. Like World War II was. Eventually the knots get untied.

If the right wing had any balls they would be trying to defund medicare and social security, those other socialist ventures,

You guys kill me with the social security is an entitlement argument. 7 percent of your pay into that system equals a lot of money. if invested correctly. Do the math you work 40 years and you could retire comfortably.

Problem is, most people would squander that 7% and not a dime would be left when they retired. Another program would have to be set up for those people at retirement time so they wouldn't starve to death.

dillo
Your point is well taken but it is actually IIRC12.5%

if employed you contribute half and the employer contributes half.
if you are self employed you pay it all.

I agree there should be a safety net but too many think SS IS their retirement and spend every penny while working
then moan that the gov't isn't taking care of them.

Back On topic
I love how the WWII vets and now the VietNam vets are moving the barricades aside over and over every day.

What does that POS BO think he is accomplishing by thumbing his nose at our Vets ?

Did y'all see this classic video? After failing to do his job as a US Congressman by passing a budget, Congressman Randy Neugebauer tried to shame a poor park ranger who was just trying to do her job:

The Link

The nerve of this collective group of ******** in Washington is staggering. First he votes for a funding measure that HE KNEW would result in the closure of this monument, then he goes out and berates the ranger who is tasked with keeping it closed. Also, this is an NBC news article and it claims that the rangers were letting the Vets in. So who knows what was really happening?

Wait, so they can pay park rangers to close a park and keep people out, but they can't let the same rangers just keep the thing open? This is the problem with your fearless leader. He will go to any lengths to prove a point and blame someone else for the bad decisions he made.

Vol Horn...

WTF are you talking about? Who is going to clean the parks up? Ever been to a really bad shitter? Do you think national monuments just care for and clean themselves? There are all kinds of liability issues, too. And who is going to maintain their security? I can just see it: terrorist walks into Washinton Monument and blows the **** out of it because, hey, there's nothing to stop them. I see the Library of Congress is shut down, too. Those books belong to the people, just as the parks do. Why not just let the people in and let them have their books and historical artifacts? They own them!

Edit: As I read more and more about this, it is apparent that the Daily Caller got the story completely wrong. Who would have guessed? AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Former Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico, who was the Libertarian Party’s presidential candidate in 2012, compared politics to a “reality show -- except that the actors are completely out of touch with reality” in an email sent out to supporters on Thursday.

“While the rest of us are trying to make a living in the face of unsustainable government debt, ever-increasing regulations, and abuses of our freedoms, our elected senators and representatives are playing games,” Johnson wrote. “For months, everyone has known that the last budget deal President Obama and Congress cut will expire Monday. Unless they come up with a new deal or pass something to kick the can down the road for a few more days, we will see the silly exercise of a government ‘shutdown.’ Here we are ... and they are just now getting serious about pulling off some trick to keep the government operating on Monday.

“What business, what organization, what family would operate that way -- if they expected to survive?” Johnson continued. “Don’t get me wrong. I would love to see the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) defunded. In fact, I’d like to see a lot of government programs and entire departments ‘defunded.’ But the reality is that it isn’t going to happen in the next four days. What IS going to happen is that the politicians on both sides are going to cut another deal. And when we get a chance to see that deal, it will do nothing to stop the government from spending hundreds of billions of dollars that it will either have to borrow or print.

“That’s not an accident,” Johnson insisted. “Believe me, the folks in Congress and the White House know exactly what they are doing. They manufacture a budget ‘crisis,’ dominate the news and the Web with their comical games to avoid that crisis, and in the process, the fundamental realities of unsustainable spending are ignored. They spend days talking about defunding Obamacare, but not a word about reforming Medicare, which is the largest real spending problem we face. They spend days talking about ‘keeping the government operating,’ but where is the conversation about changing how it operates or actually reducing spending? They don’t want to talk about that, so they create a crisis and then try to fool us into believing they are solving it.”

I agree with huisache and BI. This sounds like political theater. We know that the government makes sure that when a shutdown occurs (or anytime spending gets scaled back in any way) that the public sees and feels the impact as much as possible. That's why they're going to spend money they allegedly don't have to barricade and guard an open air national park. It's a game that big government advocates play.

On the flip side, having a bunch of Republican congressmen meet WWII vets at the memorial is also blatant political theater.

Politics is turning into the WWF.

mrD
it might seem like political theater to those of us watching but I bet it is real to all the people who were forced to leave their homes because their privately owned homes sit on federal land

and the Repubs wouldn't be able to make anything of it IF BO hadn't tried to shut down all the memorials and open air places, especially the war memorials for which veteran groups all over the country spend years planning and saving money to visit.

I also noticed that he shut down the national amber alert site while keeping up Michelles' movement site UNTIL the put cry forced BO to put it back up.

The fact that BO doesn't care about the negative press, even in legacy media should be disturbing to his supporters.
Why would he do such deliberate provoking acts? like denying war vets? or private citizens their own homes or not funding NIH acts he knows the Repubs will bring to the public's attention and the public is war vets or families with children or people who understand what it might be like to be forced from your home for no apparent reason?

Even with his supporters blaming the Pubs as loud and as often as they can likely most people will ask themselves why Bo is dong something so blatantly negative to so many ordinary people and veterans.

edit to add
not only is BO forcing people out of their private hines he is forcing private businesses to close which puts more people out of workThe Link

The National Park Service has closed privately run marinas, restaurants and inns throughout the country and in some cases even posted guards to keep people from using them during the government shutdown, arguing that it doesn’t have the money, manpower or authority to let them operate.

But the moves, which likely have thrown thousands of people out of work, are drawing scrutiny from Congress and don’t rest well with many voters who believe the administration is making the effects of the shutdown worse than necessary."

I'd like to ask do his supporters think people will blame the Republicans?

WTF?
"The National Park Service is allowing a Oct. 8 pro-immigration rally on the national mall, even as it posts pickets and barriers to bar Americans from visiting their open-air memorials.

“They’re going to be allowed to go [ahead] because it is a First Amendment activity,” Shannon Maurer, a spokeswoman for the “March for Immigrant Dignity and Respect,” told The Daily Caller.

“They allowed us to have it because it is part of the First Amendment of the constitution,” said Susana Flores, a spokeswoman for CASA in Action, which is organizing the rally. “We’re going to have a stage and microphones,” plus a stand for TV cameras, she said.

So the Pro Illegal march ( how many are against against legal immigration?) is ok but Vets exercising their First Amendment right, a right they fought for and many died for, isn't?

Everytime I think BO has jumped the shark in the handling of this he jumps another.
I thought kicking out native Americans out of a nation forest as they were on their Trail of Tears ride was jumping the shark
I think this is a bigger shark.

Horn6721,

Just because something is political theater doesn't mean it doesn't impact real people in tangible ways. There's no question that this does. People are having to leave their lands. Others are being denied access to public parks. Hundreds of thousands of federal employees are on furlough through no fault of their own. However, all of those impacts are examples of political theater by the Left to make the shutdown as visible and tangible as possible.

They use the same schtick at the state and local levels when education gets "cut." Do administrators get laid off? Do contractors with lopsided and crooked deals get revisited? No, because they get little sympathy from the public, so there's no political gain in harming them. If the assistant to the assistant to the assistant to the assistant superintendent gets laid off, the public doesn't care. They question why he had a job in the first place. Instead, teachers get laid off or at least get threatened with getting laid off, because they have the public's sympathy, and their absence directly impacts children.
