"stay on course".

You'd think this dumbass President would have plenty of other issues to worry about besides Ferguson, but apparently he doesn't. So, he told a group of civil rights leaders, including his buddy Al Sharpton, to "stay on course":

What do you suppose "stay on course" means? Be sure the rioters are ready to loot and burn?

I think the libs are just dying for the police officer to be no billed so that rioting will break out and they can do what they do best, piss and moan about what a terrible, unjust place America is.

They are massing in front of the Nike shoe stores in preparation for the grand jury results. The book stores should be safe.

It's reasonable to agitate for justice. However true justice is colorblind and rigorous in evaluation of facts. I fear that may not be what these agitators really want.

The one thing that is lamentable in this high profile case is the secrecy of grand jury proceeding. It would nice for the public to hear sworn testimony. It's not fair to put someone on trial just for the public spectacle of it. If the grand jury believes the evidence would not lead to a conviction, it should not indict.

That said, I think a jury trial is the only way I'd get a feeling I really know what happened. I've heard a lot of contradictory information in this case and I'm relatively impartial. No telling what the partisans have been telling each other.

As I understand it, the grand jury testimony will be made public, perhaps with names redacted, etc. I guess procedures are different in Missouri than in Texas. Now we need to get people interested in reading the facts before deciding whether justice had been upheld or subverted.

I don't know what "stay the course" means. It sounds to me like a mixed message meant to placate all sides.

What I do know is that a terrible storm is brewing, and what is needed is REAL leadership with an unequivocal message, and without a rush to judgment. I fear that, for President Obama (as well as Sharpton, et al), the risk of innocent people being hurt (or worse) is being outweighed by the risk of appearing unsympathetic to their constituents, regardless of whether justice is served, and blind toward the horrific plans that many have already articulated.
