BO knows he can fool his supporters

Hook'em
Perhaps none of you on here who typically support BO were fooled by his razzle dazzle show on tougher gun control.
I'd have to go back and read the threads to know.
BUT for any loopy supporter whi applauded this action by BO during his grand show
when Bo said he was going to ask for '"universal background checks"
MSM hasn't stopped slobbering over that yet.

YEA! Universal background checks. That'll git the bad gun owners.

so here is Biden speaking to the NRA

Jim Baker, the NRA representative present at the meeting, recalled the vice president’s words during an interview with The Daily Caller: “And to your point, Mr. Baker, regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don’t have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box, that answers a question inaccurately.”

Let's sign more Eo's that can't be enforced and keep fooling supporters.

As usual you either didn't read the OT or you did read it and know BO made a food of you and all supporters by pretending to be all tough and proposing a " Universal background check" when he knows the gov't , how did Biden put it? OH yea
Biden
"we simply don’t have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box, that answers a question inaccurately.”

but like a good little supporter R35 you try to deflect away from reality.

Back trolling? You stated, "Gun nuts are crazies WITH a whole lot of weapons of mass murder". If this is true why are there more people killed with hammers than rifles and why do the areas with the most rifles, rural areas, have the lowest number of gun deaths? Perhaps it is because most so called gun nuts aren't nuts but simply like guns. They collect guns. They show guns. They display guns. But, they rarely shoot other people with guns.

Give it up. Any kind of logic totally escapes him. Roger is a fool. You cannot argue with a fool.

But he's Obama's fool, so that explains his drivel.

When he was talking about enforcing gun laws, Biden pretty much has to acknowledge the ATF is hamstrung and ineffective and mostly it's hamstrung and ineffective because of Congressional allies doing the bidding the the NRA. The bureau has no director, a position from which much of its authority is derivied, because an NRA recognized "Defender of Freedom' put a provisiion in a completely unrealated bill that requires the ATF director be confirmed by the Senate even though the position is below the level the Constitution has established for "Advice and Consent" of the Senate.. For six years, dating back into the Bush Administration, the Senate has refused to confirm a new director. Again this is the Senate an amazingly dysfunctional body because rules pretty much allow a strong minority to thwart action by the majority. The acting director, with curtailed powers, actually has another full time job as a prosecutor.

Other NRA lobbyist drafted legislation placed in bills by NRA allies requires the agency dispose of background checks within 24 hours. ATF can't even require that gun shops refrain from selling to patrons who are visibly high or drunk, though in Youtube videos the Agency does politely request it.

Actually, the rank and file gun supporters are mostly accurate that mostly gun owners are responsible folks. In a few communities like a Chicago neighborhood in which an identifiable group of thuggist resiidents are responsible for most of the gun violence, there's a culture where the bad guys are mostly armed with a few people with clean records buy lots of weapons and get them into the hands of the bad guys. An easily identiifed 1 percent of gun shops sell 57 percent of the weapons that nationwide are used in violent crime. Logic would dictate that the ATF, with 2,500 agents also responsible for regulating tobacco and alcohol, would spend an inordinate amount of its time in those establishments. Alas, NRA lobbyist-written, rules inserted in laws by NRA allies in Congress, prohibit them from inspecting a gun shop more than once a year. The average gun selller gets visited once every 17 years.
If you wonder why the government doesn't enforce existing gun laws the answer is because the NRA and it's lobbyist have hamstrung the agency that does it. I guess some of it is "justifiable" fear that a powerful agency that has great records on who has applied for background checks will provide a database when the Russians and Cubans take over they will have a ready list of people with guns to visit and disarm. I mean it's happened before ... at least in Red Dawn, which most of us consider fiction that requires reality suspension, but which certain elements of the gun community as "near-miss" history.

But mostly its real impact is that it make gun sellers a lot of money putting weapons in the hands of straw buyers for bad guys. A little common sense goes a long way, but with fanatics rallying, with several I've seen on televsion seeming to believe a country-wide prohibilition of guns is in the works -- reality and common sense are unwelcome and irritating.

Croc
Who has controlled the Senate for last 6 years? Has there been an ATF Directoru nominated by Bush or for last 4 years by BO that the Senate rejected?

Are you saying that the NRA forced Congress to CUT funds to ATF and that is why the currentbackground checks are pretty much worthless?
How much was cut from ATF and when? Funny there was enough money for Holder and ATF to send assault weapons to Mexico to kill Mexicans and Americans. Ironic isn't it?

how did Biden put it?
"And to your point, Mr. Baker, regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don’t have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box, that answers a question inaccurately.”

Croc so you are saying THAT is the NRA's fault?
I am not a member of NRA nor will I be but don't be silly when placing blame.

Here's an article about how difficult it is to shut down sloppily operated gun stores who are notoriously excellent sources for criminals who want weapons. The Link

In answer to who has controlled the Senate for the last six years, when it comes to gun control it is the NRA. Also, you don't have to control the Senate to thwart confirmations.

The Senate is a body broken. Democrats came up with the idea of using the enormous power the minority holds in the Senate to block a lot of Bush appointees, Republicans took that strategy and put in on steroids. for some of us that's a bad things. If you are making a lot of money selling guns to criminals, a dysfunctional Senate and hamstrung ATF is a really good thing.

I don't know. If you are curious use Google or another good search engine. That sort of information is easy to find.

Which means, 6721, that Crocket has no clue what he is asking about. But it sounds good, and hey - that is the factual standard of the MSM.

I've read in two articles the fact that there hasn't been an appointed ATF director and heard it on the Daily Show, which has a liberal bias but curiously enough is a lot more careful to get the facts right than Fox News. If you don't know how to use Google, here's the link. The Link Just type in "ATF director confirmation" and I'm sure you can find what you want. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

You guys really should be curious about facts, though I guess taking the NRA line and attacking the messenger may be plenty satisfying for you.
