Yes he did say use of chemical weapons is a red line last year and even though reports have come out that chems have been used several times since then.

Now he is calling on the UN Security Council and the rest of the world to act.
Russia and China are of course against this.

As horrific as this is if the other nations don't want to get involved we should not go it alone. Cold as this sounds if Assad or the rebels are using chems they are using them on themselves.
BO is right on this one

We should also not get involved in Syria. We should not have gotten involved in Kosovo, Lybia, Iraq, Israel, Egypt, Lebanon, Somalia, Iran or any other middle east country including no more foriegn aid. The only time we should have gotten involved is Afgahistan and after killing the ******** that attacked us, we should have laid waste to the opium fields and then left. I think that covers the last 6 US Presidents failed interaction with the muslims.

He's right not to be going into Syria, but he was dumb to threaten them. He should have kept his damn mouth shut.

Mr D
Excellent point. BO should never said he was drawing a red line.
Not following up on that threat makes him and therefore the USA look weak to both allies and enemies.

Still not one American life is worth going into Syria
and once BO is gone we can restore our standing.

Just saw this. PLEASE DON'T LET IT BE TRUE

From Le Figaro, google translated:

According to our information, the regime's opponents, supervised by Jordanian, Israeli and American commandos moving towards Damascus since mid-August. This attack could explain the possible use of the Syrian president to chemical weapons.

According to information obtained by Le Figaro , the first trained in guerrilla warfare by the Americans in Jordan Syrian troops reportedly entered into action since mid-August in southern Syria, in the region of Deraa. A first group of 300 men, probably supported by Israeli and Jordanian commandos, as well as men of the CIA, had crossed the border on August 17. A second would have joined the 19. According to military sources, the Americans, who do not want to put troops on the Syrian soil or arming rebels in part controlled by radical Islamists form quietly for several months in a training camp set up at the border Jordanian- Syrian fighters ASL, the Free Syrian Army, handpicked.

According to this expert on the region, the idea proposed by Washington would be the possible establishment of a buffer zone from the south of Syria, or even a no-fly zone, which would cause opponents safely until the balance of power changes. This is the reason why the United States has deployed Patriot batteries and F16 in late June Jordan."The Link
