I guess they cannot list transfers to Baylor...and I think they are getting two players (Williams and Pope) that were top 10 in their classes.

Well, those transfers are not in the class of 2010 as I think they come as sophs rather than freshmen. But they were ranked pretty high in their respective classes. They should provide Baylor with some excellent post support for Griner.

Won't the Baylor transfers be juniors? I thought that a player lost a year of eligibility if they transfer from one Division I school to another Division I school.

Pope transferred after playing all of her freshman year and has sat out the required year, using her RS year. So she will be a soph eligibility wise. Williams transferred after playing her first freshman semester so still to complete sitting out one year, also using her RS year. She will be eligible after the end of the semester in Dec. and will have 3 & 1/2 years of eligibility. So technically, I guess she will be a freshman since she will be playing the spring as the last half of her freshman year. At any rate, that's what I make out of the rules. I certainly could be wrong about that.

Pope was #8 in 2008. she has 3 years of eligibility with Baylor starting next fall.

Williams was #16 in 2009. technically she has 3 years of eligibility, because playing in half of the season still counts as a full year of eligibility. but as babhorn said, since she transferred mid-year, she can start after finals week in Dec 2010.
