Blu Ray Disc Collection

Since I got my BluRay player I was very excited to start a BluRay collection. Since my first, (and only) disc purchase, i have the hardest time finding a movie I want to spend $40 on. If i'm going to spend that much on a movie it's gotta be something I will want to watch more than once, you know?

What are some good blu ray movies you would recommend, not just for the quality of the disc but a movie that you would watch over and over?

I think that you can order blu ray discs from Netflix. That way you're not stuck with a $40 dud.

I don't have Blu-Ray yet, but I do have some HD-DVDs, which are in blu-ray also, or will be. Of those, "2001" probably is most enhanced.

Kid movies get watched a lot, and my nieces always enjoy "Happy Feet", which looks great. Now that the format war is over, I expect that "The Wizard of Oz" will be out in blu-ray soon, and will probably be a must-have. I would like to get the original "King Kong" in blu-ray, too.

Check out Amazon also, they have generally reasonable prices and some decent deals from time to time.

Casino Royale looked great and is awesome.
Superbad for obvious reasons
300 looked amazing and is good if you like a lot of action
The Departed is awesome
Live Free or Die Hard
Troy looked great and if you like the movie get it

Blade Runner
Underworld
No Country for Old Men
Ocean's Pack (11,12,13)
Die Hard Collection
Fifth Element
Training Day

Those are some I have seen that looked good and movies that I like.

$40 a movie?? Get them online. Prices should range between $15-30, or $40-60 for a TV series.

Planet Earth is a must-have. Even if you only see it once.

I've only bought 2 movies (The Departed and Casino Royale) since I bought my PS3 a year ago. I would like to buy LA Confidential if they ever release it on Blu-ray. Others I plan on picking up include:

1. Usual Suspects
2. NCFOM
3. There Will Be Blood

and few others mentioned.

When I bought my Blu-Ray player, I picked up the Simpsons movie and the Ballad of Ricky Bobby in blu-ray. I need to get Blade Runner.
