I was impressed. I thought he had a fantastic game. A few good catches and some good blocks. Yes, it was FAU, but I had flashbacks of David Thomas. I love a football team that knows how to use a tight end. I hope he has a great year. I loved Finley, but I hope he makes me feel OK about him leaving too early.

This was one of the good news stories of the night. I told a friend I thought Irby looked very David Thomasish tonight. 7 catches, several tough ones in traffic and a TD. He had one good block I saw. You know a game like this will give him a lot of confidence too.

I thought he did a good just in traffic and his releases were pretty good...He also seems to protect the ball well...

I was saying the same thing to my son. Man that block he had on the goal line where he drove his guy backwards for about 8 yards was fantastic. He also had the reach out catch and I'm thinking it's DT all over again. This offense needs a great tight end and I think we've found another one.

A better and quicker J-Mike without the attitude

A faster Dave Thomas clone

He has worked on his blocking and it shows. I am so excited for the potential of this guy. He is going to be one of those rare true game changing TE's that you had better keep an eye on all the time.
