BB has a new 7100t that looks cool. So does the new Treo 650. I have been holding out on email phones because they keep coming out with new ones. I am a heavy email user and I lke to browse the web.

Any thoughts or recommendations? I am with T-Mobile right now.

Thanks!

Steer clear of the crackberry. My brother and dad each have one and it's bound to be one of the most irritating things to have someone checking email constantly where ever you go. If you get one, you'll love it, but your friends will hate you.

Yeah, Boozehound, but I think that's the case for all 3 devices and he's already decided he wants that in his life.

I can't give much advice, but I know at least with last year's Blackberry's, they're not very good phones; they've very good at e-mail, but the actual voice phone functions are not outstanding. Most people I know with Blackberry's from work had a separate cell phone that they used most of the time for voice calls.

Well, I don't know about the other two devices, but I just played with my Dad's Crackberry this last weekend (color, slimmer, phone, etc), and it was much better than his previous 2 Crackberries. I know he's very happy with it (T-mobile), and he now uses this new one (he got it two weeks ago) as his only cell phone. He was doing the 2 device thing for the aforementioned reasons, but the new one seems to be pretty darn good.

I got a blackberry with phone/email this summer and they're not particularly durable. My company provided mine, but a lot of people had service problems with theirs in the first few months. I can't speak for the other two, but i probably would not go with the Blackberry.

if you want a phone and the ability to 2way // text people = Sidekick

you want a phone and your outlook, and mostly synced and not realtime = Treo...and the 650 isn't all that much of an imporovement over the exisitng handset.

you want the web and real time email, likley powered by your work email = BB

I have a Treo 650 and it's pretty cool. I did sorta get pissed at the small keypad but you get used to it. Getting e-mail away from my computer is both a blessing and a curse.............

Crackberry has the best e-mail functionality. It has "push" instead of "pull," and it synchs with your Outlook. Treo retrieves e-mails from your server, but the e-mails you send are not synched.

Treo is a better device in every other way, and I have owned both.

Treo can open attachments, including .tiff images (but you have to buy software).

I want the new Blackberry 7100t, but I've heard horror stories about the speed of the T-mobile data network.

I like the new Blackberry 7780 with the bigger screen. I like the Treo because it's more phonelike.

My company pays either way. I can't decide.

The 7100t is only being made right now for T-Mobile and I haven't heard plans to release them to any other carriers soon.

I saw this post the other day and hadn't gotten my BB set up yet. I haven't used the other two, but am posting this using my BB 7230. I am with t-mobile as well, as of yesterday morning. I love this thing, but my wife has already yelled at me a bunch of times because I have a new way to ignore her. E-mail is awesome and so are the web functions. I am hooked already.

I had to get rid of MY BB two years ago when I was caught by my wife sending work email during a mid second trimester sonogram.

I bought a 7100t for T-Mobile - it's dead on crunk, huzzah. the new text entry system is easy to learn (I was moving right along within 15 minutes) and very cool. the 7100t is only T-Mobile, there's a 7100v version available for Vodafone in Europe (I think it actually looks cooler, but whatever). I did have some problems with the data network activation - took a couple of days before the data network caught up to me. I actually took the damn thing back - my company switched from Blackberry to GoodLinks about 5 days after I bought the thing -- I think Treos are way too big, so I just scrapped the whole idea. But the 7100t was perfect -- phone sized, great screen, easy text entry method. Damn IT guys ruined my week

I run 8 crackberries for the higher ups here in the office. The service is Nextel. So far the server has run very well, and we actually had one user drop his four floors down a staircase and all that happened was the antenna was just a bit bent.

I think you prolly made a good choice.
