Crazy how big of an influence black america is having on this race relative to previous elections. I wish everyone would vote every time.... That is all...

Blacks have always had a fairly large influence in democratic politics, but to call them the new political powerhouse is a bit of a stretch.

Actually, Latinos/Mexican-Americans are the new powerhouse. The politicians realize this. That's why they're all falling over themselves to be the "pro-immigration" candidate.

It's easy math. Let illegals into the country. Give them benefits. Let them vote for you. The more that come in, the more votes you get.

Latinos are NOT split 50/50. Its not as one-sided as blacks, but I'd guess its something like 70/30 in favor of democrats.

The sheer numbers of Latinos will overwhelm the black vote within the next 10 years, even if blacks vote 100% democratic. A 70/30 democrat split with Latinos increasing to 40% of the US population will become the 2nd most powerful voting block in the country behind the AARP crowd.

Actually the black vote goes over 90% often, however the turnout is always low. Even when it seems the turnout will be high, it never is. Until that happens, then it is not a powerhouse.

The same thing is always said about 18-30 year olds. Yet, it never shows up to vote either.

not enough "black america" to be a powerhouse, even if all of "black america" votes.

why can't "black america" just be america, instead of STILL being seen as some separate entity (since racism and inequality are almost nonexistant, right?)

Hoosier- Texas- I don't know, but if every black person in Alabama or Mississippi or South Carolina voted, and they voted 92% democrat as happens now, then the south would not be solidly Republican anymore.

Also- I've always maintained that blacks get a raw deal from the democrats b/c they are so loyal to them- voting 92+ percent. I think if they voted 75-25 democrat republican you'd actually see both parties fighting to accomplish "black" issues. Just my perspective- R's have no incentive (from a self interest perspective) and Dems can continue to ignore b/c of the loyalty.

Put another way- think of it like Cub fan. As long as Wrigley is sold out every year and the bleacher bums buy the beer- why would you spend a lot to win? Answer- you don't and they haven't.

You posted this . "With blacks, Republicans discourage voting "
I know Dems always say this and then offer up stories about black people being turned away by white Repubs at polling places, apparently there are never any Dems at polling places
When investigated these stories turn out to be just that, stories.
what verifiable proof can you offer to support what you accuse?
