At the stadium tonight my sister thought those were bats flying around eating all the insects. I told her they were birds as they had stripes on their wings and a wide tail. She wasn't buying it....anyone know what species that was? Thanks!
Common Nighthawks, about 30 or so. They are active at night and hunt for insects, and they like bright lights which attract insects. You will also see them at Disch-Falk on spring nights, also. I've never seen so many in one place as last night.
