Bird repellant?

There's a starling that has built a nest in a hard to reach spot on my roof/patio. It's too small of a spot to get my hand in there to pull the nest out, and I've tried using a metal hook to reach back in there, but the nest is wedged tight and won't budge.

I think I can eventually get the nest out if I can keep her from rebuilding it in the meantime. Does anyone know of a spray or powder or anything that will irritate her and keep her from coming back?

I was exhibiting at a tradeshow in Boston during April and my booth space was not far from a fellow Texan who billed himseld as the "Pigeon Evictor". This guy was a real piece of work and a tremendous distraction to everyone within earshot. Boy was that a looong show. He had a pretty cool invention though....

Probably just need to cover the hole with some screen wire of some sort.
