My personal opinions:

Thank you for your patience; this post contains only true facts and numbers, that as an Ag, would still be immediately wipped off if I posted on an Ag blog?

Well, we dragged another A&M scholarship across Texas, and got another commit without four or five stars beside his name.

That makes 6 now, not even yet in the top 250 for 09, that we've already committed? CONTACT $Bill and Sherman again, and tell them, that as far behind as we are in the Big 12, just to stop with committing the no star football players today ! We need top talent or walkons, period.

Bama' with a similar W/L record to A&M the last five years, and their coach fresh from the NFL, signed 3 five star and 19 four star football players in Feb 08.

Then why won't A&M sign a similar class in Feb 09 ?

Is it because A&M has $Bill Byrne as AD, who didn't take his responsibility seriously, and make sure A&M hired a Head Coach and 9 assistants that had previous extensive experience in recruiting top talented four and five star athletes? That's the only thing Bama' did differently in exactly (EXACTLY) the same circumstance!

We suck for not doing it the same way ! It just takes a little work and very little more money to do it the right way. A&M's Head Coach reportedly now is paid less than baylor's, smu's, UT's ou's etc.

When this staff completely blew away the Feb 08 class with four last minute decommits and a fifth head to head last minute loss, A&M lost a class.


Now A&M is already losing its second class in a row. We've lost, mostly head to head, almost ever four and five star athlete we've offered this year to UT, lsu, tulsa university. etc. Even TCU, okie state, and missouri among many others already have gotten off the snide.

Every school gets 85 players, it's the talent that makes the difference as measured by the four and five star athletes that are faster, bigger, and more athletic comming out of high school.

So you won't be surprised, expect the following schools to beat A&M in the next 5 years because of our recruiting now, in addition to the ones that regularily beat A&M almost every year this decade:

!. Arkansas - already has 2 four star athletes committed for 09.

2. Miami- has signed 59 four and five star athletes in the last 5 years. Almost twice as many as A&M.

3. Colorado- beat us recruiting four and five star athletes last year, as well as beat ou on the field, last year.

4. Okie State-beat us recruiting four and five star football players for the last 3 years in a row.

5. Nebraska-beat us recruiting four and five star football players the last 4 years in a row.

6 & 7. Both K. state and Missouri are comming on with them each signing 7 four and five star football players the last 2 years in a row, while A&M only signed 11.

Get a hobby, if you don't want to watch much more A&M losing football this year, and in the future, even worse than it's been this decade so far !

miller58, you are an enigma, wrapped in a mystery, on a sesame seed bun of intrigue. I can't tell if your posts are attempts at self-deprecating aggy humor, self-pwnage, the work of an not-too-clever imposter, or a sincere but exasperated aggy backer.

But I agree with the above poster, your rants are as predictable as the tide, and half as interesting.

Unlike everyone else responding on the thread, count me as one who reads Miller's posts.

sinless1, if your team had lost as badly as A&M has for this whole decade; the first part with Wally, Tim and RC; and now you see exactly the same losing 2 and 3 star recruiting with $Bill, Tim, and Mike, you'd be flustrated too! You're right, it's a similar post, similar results, just different no star commits at a different time; I'd be happy if it was different, too!

Ag blogs are comparing $Bill to Wally? Not the competition, ie, the AD's results at UT, ou, lsu, etc . That makes absolutely no sense, just spin? How would you compare A&M's AD results to UT, ou and lsu's results?

Can you imagine that some Ag blogs say that we can't get the similar results with exactly the same circumstances as Bama? It may take a more intelligent approach, a little more work, and maybe very little more money. It just ain't true! UT, ou and lsu have averaged signing 14 - 15 four and five star athletes every year this decade with similar budgets to A&M. And they're badly kicking A&M's butt this year.



I'm just sick of a decade of
losing, and Ag blog excuses that reflect either not havinga clue, or lying if they do have a clue, or surrogates of the Athletic Department spinning the truth; which is it?

Yes, its the same thing being repeated at A&M today: just the commits, not the facts or posts that change.

While the new TE committ of A&M's isn't sexy in star power, it's still a 6-5 230lb. 4-7 guy who will probably end up being a 6-6/7 250 lb.4.75 type of guy who will give match up problems if he can catch at all.
Not a bad pick up in my book. Can't coach height or speed.

dallashorn, you're not getting the results I need ? Try being firmer the next time you contact $Bill and Mike. I can't make a better post until you quit screwing up and get results .

Besides there can only be about 13 more of these posts the rest of the year; thats one for every time A&M commits a slower, smaller, less athletic 2 or 3 star the next 10 months; that 13 doesnt take into account decommits of course!

Any Ag athletic departmenr surrogates posting as horns, that they are tired of this type of post, is appreciated , too.

Changes in the Ag athletic department could immediately result in more positive recruiting info !

I want more than anything to post about unique Ag recruiting, ie, unique like a four star athlete committimg to A&M, unique like a five star athlete committing to A&M, unique like, heaven forbid, a National 100 list athlete committing to A&M, unique like anything but a two or three star athlete either committing or decommitting A&M.

MY problem is $Bill's 10 "good ol' boys" won't cooperate. Their resumes say they can't recruit, their blowing off the Feb 08 recruiting class with multiple last minute decommits and head to head losses says they cant recruit, and their losing multiple, multiple, head to head recruiting battles with UT, lsu and tulsa univerity, completely blowing off this years class so far, says they can't recruit; winning zero of these head to head battles for four and five star athletes so far, also says they can't recruit?

DallasHorn, I'm 100% with you; I've wanted to post something unique about A&M recruiting for the last decade, but all I can honestly post, every day so far this decade, is that it sucks.

Read the Ag athletic department spin if you want something really unique. It may or may not always neccessarily be true, but that makes it always unique reading.

may my next post be both uniquely pleasing to you and me as well. Don't hold your breath as long as there are two and three star left overs out there for $Bill's "good ol' boys"!

Winning coaches, like UT, ou, and lsu this past decade, sign four and five star football players; say "it's just about winning", and just go out and consistently win!

Losing coaches, like A&M this past decade, sign the two and three star football players left over; say "it's about player development", and just go out and consistently lose!
 
Go to the nearest Wal Mart and buy yourself some fishing tackle. Then go throw yourself off a bridge. The fishing tackle serves to preserve the accidental appearance and your family's life insurance claim. Good luck.

1leggedduck, fishing on fall Saturday afternoons sounds great for the rest of the decade. IF I was a jumper, I'd have done it back toward the end of RC's time!

National publications don't offer any hope. 9 out of 10 of them about the Big 12 mention UT, ou, tech, nebraska, kansas, missouri
and okie state, but don't even bring up A&M. I mean don't discuss them at all.

Then when they do discuss A&M, it's "A&M's new hire, Mike Sherman, is the 8th best coach in the Big 12", or "all the other coaches in the Big 12 are grinning from ear to ear at the thought of competing against a Mike Sherman coached A&M"or one national blog even talked about "future A&M coaching candidates would remember how Fran got stabbed in the back, and think twice before considering A&M in the future"?

These three paraphrases are of the very few times A&M is recently mentioned nationally and reflect the true image A&M has nationally. This is not anything like what you read on the closely controlled, censored biasly, politically correct, leaving out half the facts, surrogate led Ag blogs?

And I detailed above, the increasing number of Big 12 teams that have been out recruiting A&M the last few years for the four and five star football players. These teams also can soon be expected to start blowing out, beating A&M on a regular basis. Let alone the other in state and out of state schools that every day are kicking our butts in head to head recruiting!

But what I don't understand most is the few milktoast Ags who will complain about what is being written about A&M football, but who will not address the public record numbers and the immediate obvious specific corrective action needed, because "it wouldn't be civil" or wouldnt be "good ol boy" like?

Or is it that they fear the threat of being banned, if they are caught posting the real true facts, numbers, coaches resumes, etc. that doesn't exactly agree with the controlling surrogate spin? Bias censorship not unlike Pravda and Beijing?

If you believe all this and it continues, A&M soon will be playing for about 8th place or lower in the Big 12.

If an NIT for football is started, we won't even make that?

Guys--no way this is the original "winning season in 06 and champs in 2008!" miller58 from Texags. This is some regular poster on HF just having a good time.
 
My personal opinions:

Damn it, fuzzymath, if your going to say it's not me, at least quote "not me" correctly!

"not me" quoted was, "A&M, a rebuilding and a winning season in 06 and champs in 08"!

And the 13 four star commits we had last year, before the coach back stabbing became apparent, and used by opponent coaches to get decommits, would have have made our defense with a young strong four star two deep!

Decommits included a 4*cb to ou, a 4* s to ou, a 4*de to nd, a 4* de to isu a 4*lb to UT, a 4* lb to ucla, a fast 3* dt to bama, a big 3* dt to ou, a 4* lb head to head loss to ole miss, and a 3* lb decommit to la tech.

This class would have been by far the best class since before early decade RC and the diasters that he and Tim recruited that were upper classmen when ou 77-0, isu, etc. happened. RC gets all the credit for those!

The recruiting class this year would have replaced RC's last recruited class in 2002 when he was fired in Dec 02, signed in Feb 03 by Fran( and Fran held all RC's recruits, added to them, ever one except sweed), and would have given us a level playing field for the first time in Fran's tenure in the fall of 08.

Now after blowing the 08 and 09 classes already, I'm just not optomistic that this current staff will produce those 08 champs? (to say the least)

It's never publicized, but we haven't won 9 games in a season or won 16 games like in the last two seasons since the last decade! And making ONE FIELD GOAL in the ou game in the 9 win season puts us in the Big 12 championship game, with 10 wins, playing for a BCS bowl.

Miller 58 is a Baylor fan posing as an Ag. He's been exposed before. Pretty pathetic, but what do you expect from a school whose favorite football team isn't even their own.

The best thing about Baylor is how their girly men give such little or no competition for all the hot women on campus.

Never any question about the numbers, coaches resumes, national publications, or facts that are presented that can be quickly checked and either confirmed or refuted? Just attack the messenger, because it's not the familar false spin, and that will just make it go away!

Billy Clyde, just personally check a few of the numbers yourself, and then tell other Ags the truth.

My personal opinions:

Billy Clyde, you and I are on the same side.

I'm just an old Ag who recognizes the inexcusable incompetenance of our AD's and coaches this whole decade particularily when compared to our Big 12 competition, the 100% censorship that wont even allow these numbers, facts and comparisons to be made on Ag blogs, and lastly, the need for immediate change from AD on down, for A&M to be anything but a second class football operation.

Recent developments lead me to believe A&M will be a third class football operation by the end of the decade!

Help me by confirming the following and reporting back to our fellow Ags:

!. bama' with a similar W/L record as A&M the last five years hired 9 assistant coaches with proven records as recruiters, similar salaries to A&M, and proceeded to sign 22 four and five star football players in their head coaches first year out of the NFL, in Feb 08. A&M should do exactly the same for the 09 class, but won't,
because of incompetence.


2. A&M with a similar W/L record to bama hired 9 assistant coaches with an impossible to believe recruiting record resume of signing a total of 2 four star football players in the 5 signing classes prior to their hire at A&M.

UT and ou signed 62 and 67 four and five stars by comparison for the same 03-07 classes.

How could $Bill be this incompetent and as AD let this happen?

3. It's a matter of public record, the incompetency of this staff in last minute multiple decommits, lose of head to head battles and signing of 2 star football players in the Feb 08 class.

4. It's a matter of public record that this staff offered and lost head to head battles for every one of the 6 four and five star football players UT committed, 2 lsu committed, many others, and has already lost the 09 class. That's two classes lost in a row!

5. The national publications lack of even mentioning A&M in the Big 12 picture, rating Sherman as the 8th best coach in the Big 12, writting that other Big 12 coaches were smiling from ear to ear at the thought of facing a Sherman coached A&M team, and a national blog writting that coaches took note of Fran's being backstabbed and would think twice before ever considering coaching at A&M, all are a matter of puplic record!

6. Also a matter of public record are the numbers I quoted about okie state, nebraska, colorado, arkansas, miami, etc. out recruiting A&M in four and five stars in recent classes, and hence to expect them to be beating us most future years, along with UT, ou and the other usual suspects.

Billy Clyde just confirm and report back these facts to our fellow Ags and you'll help A&M to overcome the present complete incompetence at all levels of A&M football!

I enjoy a gig of aggy as much as the next person, but as I'm sure has already been pointed out, this is a UT board...and most of us who post on here are quick enough on the uptake to figure out that Miller's not fond of the current administration over at dysfunction junction. I'm starting to get eye strain from reading the same rant over again...can we concede Miller's point that the aggy braintrust (now there's a contradiction in terms...), in his mind anyway, is missing the boat in recruiting...and just move on?

coolhorn, you didn't hear about shanks 'ritas' because at the next table over was Aggie athletic department surrogates eating crow, and loudly crying in their own maragritas over the ten different press releases starting last November about the "new emphasis on recruiting by A&M coaches"?

These were the same 10 coaches, whose resumes showed signing a grand total of 2 (two) four and five star football players in the prior 5 years before joining A&M. (loud crying)

These are the same 10 coaches, who lost the Feb 08 recruiting class including five last minute decommits and head to head recruiting losses. (loud crying)

These are the same 10 coaches that have already lost the 09 class, and has made multiple, multiple, multiple offers to four and five star football players that UT, lsu and Tulsa University were also recruiting, and then lost each and every one of them in head to head battles for the 09 class. (loudest crying)

UT has already committed 7 four and five star football players and lsu has committed 5. Even okie state and tcu have committed four star athletes! for 09 .(louder crying)

That's two classes in a row that this staff has already lost with their great recruiting?(loud crying)

At the beginning of the decade in 2001, Tim and RC signed only 7 four and five star football players, while UT had 21 and ou 16, signed Feb 02.

In 2002, RC and Tim recruited only 6 four and five star football players, while UT had 12 and ou had 16. As a result of RC recruited players, our NFL draft dropped to almost zero in 04, 05, 06, and 07; and when these RC recruits were upper classmen, ou blew us out 77-0, isu blew us out, etc.


What happened to RC, Tim and Wally in Dec 02 is history.

Comparing, it looks like the 08 and 09 classes will be even worse for Mike, Tim and $Bill?
