**** you Bill Simmons and all of the other bitchy, whiny Boston sports/casters/"fans." Seriously. **** you. You whiny *****. Be a Texas Rangers fan for 20 years you ****. Most championships ever, boo-*******-who that you haven't won one in a while.

If you don't know why I'm hating, check his columns 3 or 4 weeks back. Hell, check the attitudes of every Boston sports fan a month ago.

****, even now they're probably moping that the Pats didn't go undefeated.

I am more annoyed at Jim Bob from Dallas that has been a die hard Red Sox and Patriots fan since 2002 and a Celtics fan since they got Garnett

I am from Houston. We have known as much misery as anybody over the last 30 or 40 years. Boston people need to STFU.

I lived in Houston at the time of the collapse in Buffalo, so I should have known better than to make light of the psychological damage to which Houston fans have been subjected. Still, I would argue Cleveland has the clear edge in sports misery:

MLB - The Indians have actually lost two World Series (1995 and 1997) since 1970, the latter of which included blowing a ninth inning lead in Game 7 to a teal-clad expansion team that was effectively dismantled the following season. (In terms of the League Championship Series, I'll grant you that 1986 may have been more devastating than the Indians' collapse last year.)

NFL - This is where both fan bases have endured the most suffering in recent history, and reasonable minds could certainly differ as to whether the Oilers' playoff woes were more traumatic than the Drive and the Fumble in back-to-back AFC Championship Games.

NBA - This is creates a bigger gap than you would think. Houston fans have memories of Elie's throat slash, Hakeem's systematic destruction of every center in the Association over the course of two seasons, etc. Not only do post-1970 Cleveland fans have none of that, due to the iconic nature of Cleveland's failures, they are subjected to repeated viewings of Jordan's shot, Elway's drive, and Mays's (admittedly pre-1970) basket catch. Be thankful Gatorade never made Frank Reich their spokesman.

Let's not lose sight of the real enemy here: the "long-suffering" Boston fan who just watched his basketball team win its 17th championship.

I would like to pay someone to clamp a few clothespins onto Bob Ryan's scrotum. Peter Gammons needs a little something too, but he's probably into that ****.

Say what you will, but Simmons & Gammons are lifelong fans. They happen to be rooting for a few teams that are doing very well at the moment, but they earned the right by stick through the tougher times. Its not like either one is some bandwagon fan.

I'm a long-suffering Houston fan, but I admit that Cleveland has it much worse. Cleveland has ZERO championships in the last 50 years. At least we have the Rockets. And we don't have to live in Cleveland.

But getting back to the original post, I agree that all Boston fans should stop whining for at least the next 40 years. They've won 6 championships, and at least one in each of the 3 major sports, in the past 10 years. Shut it!
