Bill Murray visits Mack, Colt, Quan etc...

"Are you a big fan of college football in general: I am. It’s more fun. I’m from Illinois, but I really adored when Texas beat Southern Cal, because I thought that was good for the world. I thought that was great."

I love that quote !

Murray is making his way around the stadium towards the end of the 3rd quarter. He and the stadium employee he is walking with rounds the SE corner where the cannon is and about 20 yards later the quarter ends and they fire the canon. Bill Murray jumps about 3 feet in the air flailing his arms around because he had no clue what just happened. He played it off well, but it was funny as hell. The sound of the canon startles me sometimes where I sit, I can't imagine how loud it would be if you were 20 yards away with your back turned.

So I jump on a plane in Hollywood and make my way over to Austin, and I get on as a field pass at Joe Jamail Field at Royal Memorial Stadium. A field pass, you know, a celebrity, a McCoughnhey, a Clemens. So, I tell them I'm a celebrity, and who do you think they let me meet? The Colt McCoy, himself. White version of Vince. The longhorn helmet, the burnt orange jerseys, ... striking. So, I'm watching him on the first drive. He throws a nice pass to Shipley - big arm, the Colt - long, inside the red zone, right at in front of some Razorbacks. Do you know what the Colt says? “Vince is Vince. I just want to be the best I can be.” So I finish watching the game and he's gonna give me an autograph. And I say, "Hey, Colt, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the watching you play, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any autographs, but when you die, on your deathbed, you can say you saw a future Heisman winner play." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Was he here filming a movie or something? Strange to see him down there with no real ties and then my wife saw some pretty massive 18-wheeler trucks around the corner from our house that looked to be there for some kind of production. I think she said she saw them either on Woodrow or Grover north of Koenig ln. Anyone know anything about this?

Love Bill Murray. Some of my favorites in no particular order:

1. What about Bob?
2. The man who knew too little
3. Rushmore
4. Caddyshack
5. Ghostbusters
