Big XII Tourney in KC

I assume local demand for this is going to be sky high with KU and KSU. How many tickets are given to each school for their allotment? Sounds like ordering the whole ticket package through UT would be my best option instead of paying high dollar through scalpers?

Thanks in advance.

Get tickets before you go. there are always 100's of kansas fans looking for tickets outside of the arena. you will pay big $$$ in kc from scalpers.

first year of the new building, and KU/KSU hot, i would expect decent demand for tickets. i attended about 5 big 12 tourneys in a row when living in KC, and yes the demand will typically drop off after the first day BUT if KU is still in it they suck up the extras pretty quickly. i'd buy the whole package thru UT, then if we lose you should be able to sell easily to local demand, if you choose.

Demand definitely drops as teams get eliminated but KU, KSU, Mizzou and ISU fans usually come out in droves so if one of them is involved, it's a tougher ticket. At the end of each session, there are usually a good number of fans of the losing team selling tickets outside for the next session.

Considering that KU and KSU could be in it until the last day, tickets will be hard to come by. The situation in OKC after the Pokes made it to the semifinals was absolutely ridiculous. Tickets were damned near impossible to find for a reasonable price. And (of course) once OSU lost and some free lower level tickets fell in our lap, the ones we had for Sunday upstairs couldn't even be given away.

Tickets can always be had. The issue is at what cost. Watch the brackets for KU, Mizzou, ISU and I expect KSU this year. The more of those teams in a session the higher the price.

Assuming KU and KSU lock down the top two seeds, that splits them up. If you use current standings ISU (6 or 7) and Mizzou (9) are also split up. If Texas gets a bye, the thing to watch is for is the team on their side of the bracket losing. Tickets transactons will be happening as soon as the loser is leaving the arena. But you may have to buy all 4 of the remaining sessions Fri-Sun.

One other thing to watch is that NU fans will come down from Omaha if their teams wins a couple of games. Also, OSU fans travel pretty well, but maybe not this year unless they get a couple of wins.

You will see no one from Colorado. The last time the tourney was in KC, you would not find many Baylor, A&M, or Tech fans. I expect that could be different this year.
