Wheat aggy advances over Third Ward. Will play blOU tomorrow.

Tornado aggy up on Sand aggy 9-4 with bases loaded & 2 out in top of the 6th.

And then Tech catches ISU in the bottom of the 7th with two solo homers. And then wins 10-9 in walkoff with yet another solo homer in the bottom of the 8th.

Added: The game started at 7:30 and did not finish until after 10:30 (I didn't note the walkoff time)

 
So we play tceh who we run-ruled 3 times in Lubbock just this last weekend.

I'll put $100 on the Horns to Win, Place & Show
 
OMG I turned the tv off with the cyclones up 6-0 on Tech in the 4th! Even thought it might be a run rule game. Tech looked like a beat down team after the weekend Texas gave them. Tech may have gained a little self respect after that come back but they don’t have the pitching to hang with the Horns!!

I have searched for a scenario in which Tech causes us a lot of grief today, and I just cannot find one that is plausible. I see another run rule vicktree on the horizon.
 
The Tech-ISU game went 3 hours. Tech used three pitchers who threw: 73, 24, and 54 pitches. I don't think we'll be getting fresh pitching.

They did hit 4 HR, although as mentioned before 2 in inning 7 and 1 in inning 8.
 
Okie lite poops their pants in dramatic fashion at the Big 12 tournament losing to BYU 7-2!
They will still host a regional and super regional based on their RPI!! But not a good look to start the NCAA tournament!

In 4 games against Sand aggy, we batted 19 times.

We outscored them 60-11, cumulative... Were they really all that bad, or are we just on a serious heater?

Small amount if bad news:
Simpson comes in to pitch the 5th. Allows 2 run dinger; then 1 run on a strike out wild pitch. Then, out 3 making 7 consecutive run rule games for the Horns.

Yea, seemed like she bounced as many across the plate as she threw. She managed 3 outs, but gave up 3 runs in the process.
 
Texas leading 14-0. Runner at third. I say to my family, "And the next pitch will be a wild pitch and Baylor scores".

Sigh.

At least this will make Mike think twice about putting her in a tight game to close it out.

People keep saying, "But she pitched an incredible game against Arkansas!" Yeah, 2 years ago and she's gotten worse.
 
It's a bit concerning that while our hitting is getting better and better each game, our pitching is getting more and more timid with each game. Walking the first batter in the first two innings? Eeek. The loss of confidence at this part of the season makes me nervous.

Teagan certainly looked frustrated the first 2 innings but after she had a 12-0 lead she started throwing pellets! After a year of film on her everyone knows what’s coming now. It seems She hasn’t gone past 4 innings many times this year. Coach stated after the tech game that ‘Everyone knows what Mac is going to throw, she just has to mix it up and hit her spots’. Not particularly complimentary? And the pitcher that relieved Teagan still seems to have her problems!!!!

Let me preface this by saying I'm gonna make excuses for all the players...:thumbup:. I think Sophia's issues are just mental. Her changeup is still one of the best when she controls it. I was glad Coach didn't pull her when she struggled...no matter how disappointed we are she feels worse cause she wants to be a part of our success.
We made 3 errors last night and nobody cared...cause we are winning.
This is the best all around Texas Softball I have ever seen and we haven't won anything. :bevo:
