Can anybody guess who the league office wants to win? You can bet it ain’t “da Bears”. They will want a higher profile program for “The Committee” to consider. Who is the better team is irrelevant. It is about promotion, just like all of this “selection” process. This committee of thirteen has seven active AD’s and one of them represents the B XII, or more specifically, is AD for OU. Recusals? O.K. I will leave the room while you discuss my team, but when I come back we will all gather for dinner and drinks, so be kind to me while I’m out. Right.? And my team needs their biggest rival out of the mix of the playoff teams. I will be working on that while we manipulate selection of the teams that provide the biggest payday.

Officiating could very well decide this game. Then again it could be a blowout. Will Bowlsby hand pick a crew to officiate? Isn’t that what he did last year? And like last year, it may be the non-calls that could play a bigger role than the bad calls on a given team. One of these teams has acknowledged that they expect their defensive backs to get flagged, yet that seldom happens. And they can write a book on how to hold at the offensive line and get away with it.

Awareness that there will be bad officiating will not matter. Complaints that it is happening during the game will go on deaf ears. And, complaints to the league office after the game will be a waste of time because they continue to support some of the worst officiating in college football. Here’s an idea. Go hire a crew from another conference for the championship game. Is he doing that this year?

Accuse me of being a conspiracy theorist. Yea, could be one. And if so, could be right. Having fought for many years in the business world I continue to be amazed at the naivety of so many people when it comes to money and power. No playoff + corrupt selection = $$$$$$$$$$. D-1 football is the only sport north of middle school athletics that will not allow a playoff. Need to control the semifinal and final game participants. Sooners will get in! Big XII office will celebrate.

Would like to think it'll be fair-and-square but money makes this world go around...….

They're dumb. I personally think BU has just about as good of a chance of getting in this year with a win as OU does.
...and it would make the conference look deeper

If Baylor beats OU, eliminating OU from the playoff, maybe that will resonate with Bowelsby and help eliminate the Worthless Piece of ****, Beyond Stupidity, Bobbie Bowelsby Made For TV Big XII Championship Game.

The stupid son of a ***** needs to be fired.

The Big XII has the worst officiating in college football, but the Sooners need not worry. The Bears will be receiving the short end of the stick on Saturday, that is for sure, so even if they don't have an epic second half meltdown again OU like last time, they will still lose.

Mike,

We are the only P5 conference sharing officials with minor leagues - Big Sky, MWC, WAC. You can call Walt Anderson’s dental office in Sugar Land and thank him. Donnie Duncan is dead, so you can’t thank him, but tell me where that lying, chicken **** son of a ***** is buried, and I’ll beat you there to “water” his grave.

Anderson hand picked Walleye Burks to be in charge of officials. Walleye was a **** referee and reject from the BigSky.

All feathers in Bowelsby’s cap.

Remember when KSU burned OU and Stoops in the B12 CCG about 15-20 years ago? Could be something similar Saturday.

It may not matter...If the $EC and E$PN want two $EC teams in, they will cheat LSU and let Georgia win.......That will put tOSU, Clemson, Georgia, and LSU in the play offs with the chance of an all $EC title game !!!!!!! Though I m sure refs will cheat for OU and Utah, it may not matter.

It was a slaughter, and ou still made the NCG as I recall. This stuff needs to stop, Only Conference winners make the playoffs. But, unfortunately, in college football, money talks, and teams deserving to be in are told to take walks...out of consideration.

Both teams / programs disgust me for similar and dissimilar reasons....

Therefore, I have to fall back on an old axiom:

Nothing, NOTHING good comes from an ou win.

Worster,

Solution:

1) Beat Oklahoma

2) Fire Bowelsby

3) Make Mike DeFee head of officials

4) Shitcan anyone that ever met Walt Anderson or Donnie Duncan

5) Let Mike bring in all new crews

6) Beat Oklahoma

7) Do away with the Bowelsby Bowl

8) Beat Oklahoma

9) Restrict all calls from Anderson and his cluster

10) Either hire Oliver Luck as commissioner or get OU another Dr Boren to run the conference.

11) Beat Oklahoma

Not a Jaylen Hurts fan at all, but this jumped out at me...
"For the third year in a row, and with his third different quarterback, Riley’s offense leads the nation in yards per game (564.3) and yards per play (8.4). Jalen Hurts has a higher completion percentage, more total yards and more total touchdowns than any of OU’s four Heisman-winning quarterbacks did through 12 games."

As stated OU will get every call! It’s not sour grapes from me but having been there last year and witnessed what was a train wreck of officiating, you can bet it will occur yet again! I’ve seen how this movie ends! Go Bears!

Agree but Go Bears! I have family that are Baylor alumns. And I want OU to lose.....big! It’s very unfortunate what Biles and company did to that school.

Did SabreHorn just say “Boomer”???.....I don’t even know you.....because I don’t even know you!

You just lost your Posse East Privilege!

With Utah's loss last night the bowl picture cleared a bit. Assuming the Committee is fair (a big assumption) the winner of the Big XII should be in the CFP. [I am still afraid that even if Baylor wins, their out of conference schedule and close calls (TCU, Tech, and ISU) will be the excuse that the Committee will use to put Georgia ahead of Baylor.] If the winner of the Big XII goes to the CFP that puts the loser in the Sugar Bowl against either LSU or Georgia (or Florida/Alabama if two $EC teams somehow get in the CFP). That will put Texas in the Valero against probably Utah. If that happens the Valero Bowl should be a very good game.

If the Big XII is shut-out of the CFP ou and Baylor slide one game witch would put the loser today in the Valero, and move Texas into the "pool" of the Big XII Bowl commitments (technically Valero is in the pool, but they get the first choice and is generally considered the top non-New Year's Six Bowl). In the Pool, Camping World picks first, and I don't see them passing up Texas. The opponent would be the #2 or 3 ACC team or ND.

I hope the Texas BMD's have made it clear to CdC who has made it clear to Herman playing aggy is still a no-win situation for Texas (even in a bowl game).
