Big Sports Weekend in Dalllas

There are five D-1 games occurring in the D/FW Metro on Saturday and one MLB playoff game:

Aggy v. Arkie @ the Death Star (note the Rangers are across the parking lot)
Tceh v. Baylor @ the Cotton Bowl
TCU v.Wyoming @ Amon Carter
SMU v. Tulsa @ Ford Stadium
UNT v. Arkansas State @ Fouts Field

Couple that with the Game 3/4 of the American League Division Series in Arlington and the Cowboys game on Sunday and damn... there is quite a bit to do.

I'm going to the Baylor-Tech game. I fully expect to have a better time in the Cotton Bowl than I did last week. Hopefully, Jeffcoat won't still be out on the field sparring with that OU guy

Amusing that the ******** known as Arlington has the two biggest events happening that weekend and Dallas gets the Tx-OU sloppy seconds.

Give me the old Cotton Bowl any day for watching a football game. Jerry World may be new and shiny but for actually watching a game it cannot compare to the sight lines of the old lady.

All Texans, even Cowboy-hating Earler fans, should feel insulted that Jerry brought in Switzer to coach a Texas team. That's enough reason to dislike his stadium right there. Add in the sterile, corporate environment and I hope to God we never see a Texas OU game there. I worry that the bean counters in Austin will give in to Jerry's checkbook. Ugh.

Are they dividing Baylor/Tech at the 50?

BTW - recent poll says over 80% of fans do not want TX/OU to move.

Will be interested to see the juxtaposition of the Baylor/Tech game in the Cotton Bowl on a gloriously sunshiny day, with the fair going on outside, and the Ark/TAMU game in that glassed in environment (open roof or not). Hard to imagine that the game at Jerryworld will evoke anyone's fondest memories of college football.

Just turned on the TTU/Baylor game in time to see TTUs first score, and happened to notice that there is a banner in the end zone referring to the game as the "Shootout". WHAT THE HELL. We have to change the name of our game to the Red River Rivalry, but tech and Baylor get to come in the next week and call it a shootout. Shenanigans.
