Big Oak BBQ - Closed?

Was in Buda on Sunday and planned on eating here. Drove up and the sign said the location was closed and had a thank you sign in the window.

When did this happen? Was it just a oddly worded Closed sign for Sundays, or are they really gone?

damnit. i hope not. i've only eaten there once with bozo_casanova (they apparently don't mind pink shirts at big oak), but their brisket cheesesteak sandwich was incredible.

Most family owned BBQ joints are closed on Sundays. Same with smaller family owned taco joints. I wouldn't be surpried if it was just a Sunday thing.

Of course, I've never been there so I don't know how they were doing businesswise, so they could certainly be closed for good. The restaurant business is a tough nut to crack.

Confusing...

I went to the Buda Chamber of Commerce website and found Big Oak. Their ad says,
"Open 7 days a week for your convenience.
Wed - Sat: 11:00am to 8:00pm"

Let me know what you find out. I'd been meaning to go there for lunch all summer in conjunction with a tubing trip, and the rain f'd that up royally.
