Big Dex is a bully

Big dex made us proud. I knew he would handle his own with them. His defense in the paint is very good.

Really brings a tear to my eye seeing that big sweaty man move people out of the paint like they was a fly on a twinkie.

He's not getting enough love. The fact that he has developed into a solid low-post option is the difference b/w us being a good and great team.

Congrats to Dex on all his hard work!

Very good game by Dex. Brook was 1-2 feet further from the block and missed many shots b/c of him. Those arent stats but Dex played very well.
as did Chapman in 1st half.

Even to the uninitiated (me), his progress over the season to reach the point where he is very valuable to the team has been remarkable to watch. Dex is a great story.

A number of players are contributing so much more than they were able to at the beginning of the year. I salute their hard work and Coach Barnes' coaching. I've never enjoyed watching a Texas team so much.

Watching him frustrate the Lopez twins last night was a thing of beauty. Hopefully he can do more of the same against the Memphis bigs tomorrow.

The thing about Dex is that hes actually quite skilled for a man his size. He has very nice touch around the hoop, and really understands how to use his body. I like his game a lot.

Are they still trying to get him to lose weight? 300 is still quite large for an BBall player, and I would guess 260 is a good target, but if it also didn't look like he was getting out-quicked, nor like he was wearing concrete shoes, so maybe he can play at 300.

I think the coaches have said they would like to see him at 275.

Getting 8/8 combined out of Pittman and Chapman, plus Dexter's defense was a big assist in winning that game.

If Dex continues his progress, he's on track to be a decent NBA player, and an outstanding NBA quote machine. Love that big man.

The thing that really impresses me is his hands, whether receiving a pass, or snagging a rebound. I assume they are rather large.

The detail of Dexter's game I appreciate the most is how he observes other post players and guards them to take away their strengths. When A&M blew us out and Joseph Jones was owning us with, IIRC, quick dribble into the paint and short jump shot. Dex made sure that if Jones was going to beat him, it wasn't going to be with that move.

On Friday, Brook kept getting the ball on the right-side block and doing a half-drop-step to flick in a short bank shot with his right hand. Dex got in the game and wasn't guarding Brook straight from behind, he was shading over to the baseline, so Brook was having to take his dribble right into Pittman and couldn't get anywhere. This left the spin to the middle wide open, but that wasn't Brook's best move - he never really tried it.

What I like about him is you don't move him. He takes a postion and he is there. I am like Stat in that I think he took that Lopez kid and forced him out a couple feet farther than he liked and then his favorite move wasn't there. He put the same kind of stop on big Griffin of zero U too. Dex can be a man from now on. It just depends on much he wants it and how hard he will work to get it. I assume from all the weight he has lost that he is willing to work pretty damn hard.
