Big Brown and his Trainer

Normally I am not into the trainers or anyone who is overly confident, but for some reason I am loving everything this guy is saying. I guess it is because I believe it, but man it is making horse racing fun this year.

eflow,
remind me how many in the past 10 years have won the first 2 races and then not won the 3rd?

I know it is a few, but I don't know how many.

Five in the last 10 year and 6 in the last 11.

1997 Silver Charm finished 2nd at Belmont
1998 Real Quiet finished 2nd at Belmont
1999 Charismatic finished 3rd at Belmont
2002 War Emblem finished 8th at Belmont
2003 Funny Cide finished 3rd at Belmont
2004 Smarty Jones finished 2nd at Belmont

Furthermore, there have only been 11 Triple Crown winners in history. I guess that is why I am so excited, this horse looks like the real deal. Hopefully, he can pull it off.

Let me preface this by saying I know very little about horses and horse racing. I just hope they are not bringing the horse to the track too soon after his hoof injury. I would hate to see them sacrifice the horse for their own glory. If he is fine I will be pulling for him all the way.

Well, his injury is the equivalent of a hangnail, so I am not to worried. A light crack in the hoof happens all the time to horses.

I don't think that's the point. If anything gets hurt on that horse that can even remotely be attributed to his "hangnail" all hell will break loose.

By the way, this is not my opinion...just what I think will happen.

Dutrow is an asshat - caught cheating multiple times. His personal life is/was a mess. He is not well liked in the NYRA circuit. I am a huge fan of horse racing and I will have a hard time rooting for Big Brown knowing Dutrow and IEAH will be responsible for a Triple Crown winner.

TJ,
I am not into horse racing to know how big a punk the guy is, but I still can't help but root for the horse. That is why this is kinda weird to me. Dutrow is the type of guy I usually root against, but for some reason I think it is hilarious this time.

i'm rooting for Big Brown and the jockey with the hot wife, not Dutrow.

but i'm also rooting for Casino Drive to push Big Brown to the limit.

Casino Drive in action winning the Peter Pan Stakes at Belmont last month:

I am really pulling for Big Brown. Would love to see a repeat of '73 when Secretariat left them all behind.

Casino Drive was sold for $950,000 as a one year old
Big Brown was sold for $190,000 as a one year old

Casino Drive Family Tree:
-Great grandson to Seattle Slew
-Great great grandson to Secretariat
-Great great grandson to Northern Dancer
Casino Drive is even the 8th generation paternal blood of Man O War (War Admiral's daddy)
He is the combination of four "non-related" king's (Seattle Slew, Secretariat, Norther Dancer, and War Admiral) bloodlines.

Big Brown Family Tree:
Great Grandson to Northern Dancer (Thats it, nothing magic)

It's gonna be a hell of a race

Drawing the rail is a tough position for Brown, just because of who the 2 horse is with it being a relative unknown that sucks...if that horse doesn't break straight out of the gates, he could take down Brown right at the start.

Brown needs to get out front so he can't be boxed in, and then coast to the win. I'm very happy to see that Casino's stable mate isn't running in the race...that would've been bad news.

Win - Big Brown
Place - Denis of Cork
Show - Casino Drive

If Big Brown and Casino Drive go at it too early, I can definitely see Denis of Cork or Macho Again ruin everybody's day

I don't know much about horseracing, but I love to watch the horses run. I am hoping for a Triple Crown winner, but not by 31 lengths. I hope THAT never happens again, because I never want Secretariat to be eclipsed. He was such a special horse.
