Big 12 WNIT teams?

with 7 projected teams to the NCAA, that leaves only Tech with a winning record (17-14) and Kansas with a .500 record (15-15)as potential WNIT teams.

Wonder if Tech would accept a WNIT bid?

Would KU qualify at 15-15?

KU coach Bonnie Henrickson said in their press conference after the loss to OSU that they were "in" for the WNIT, that they'd accept and hoped to host next week.

Haven't heard anything about Tech, but didn't watch their press conference....yet! I'm working on watching those tonight!!

BTW, speaking of the press conferences, Blair had some VERY nice compliments about Ashleigh after the Horns' loss to A&M.

Kansas doesn't belong. Tech definitely does. The difference is more than their records seem to indicate given how the South is much tougher than the North.

While one can make a valid argument that Kansas does not have the pedigree for post-season play, the WNIT has a big enough field to fill that they tend to take anyone with a .500 record and a pulse.

And...even mediocre teams from the Big 12 seem to do OK in the WNIT since the quality of the competetion tends not even to match up to the lower echelon teams in the Big 12...
