can't find a bad game here. with cyclones.tv being a for pay site, that eliminates that game from consideration for watching. And that's too bad as ISU comes to Austin on Wednesday.

Kansas State @ TCU 1:00 p.m. on FSSW (Austin: TWC 54, 318 or 373)

Oklahoma State @ Iowa State 2:00 p.m. on Cyclones.tv (for pay site)

Texas Tech @ Texas 7:00 p.m. on LHN (Austin: TWC 383)
Replays: Saturday @11pm & Sunday @ 11 am & 5pm

Sun, Jan 03

Whoa! Watching Ks St at TCU - TCU's floor is very different to say the least - it's hard to explain, its shades of gray/beige. Definitely different.

sure is. thought the color on my tv had gone off somehow til I changed channels.

Looks like KSU is going to be a zone defense team, based on what their fans said about their game with ISU and so far in this game. TCU not having any problems penetrating the zone or shooting over it.

against Tech and today, Diaz is doing a fantastic job on the boards and finding the open teammate.

Given that TCU ran so well under Mittie, I thought he would push KSU to play the same way but he seems to have gone for the typical KSU playing style they have used for the longest time-milk the clock, shoot the three, play zone D.

TCU hit 11-22 threes out of 57 total FG attempts.

KSU was 11-30 from BTA on 56 FG attempts.

That’s 52 threes, almost half of the 113 shots taken. Guess we know what to expect when we play these two teams.

Oh, yeah, TCU won 87-73 to go 2-0 in the Big 12.

well, that high for OSU didn't last long. They go down to ISU, 49-42. ISU joins TCU on top of the Big 12 with 2-0 records.

took a look at the ISU-OSU boxscore.
OSU had six more FGs and two more 3s but lagged in FTs, making 2-5 to ISU's 22-25. OSU even won the boards, 47-35. But that 20 pt edge from the FT line that ISU had proved too much to overcome.

man, BU's Kalani Brown is huge. Makes OU's Kaylon Williams look small. BU up 40-28 at the half. BU has their PG back as Niya Johnson is back in the lineup. The Lady Bears also have Nina Davis playing her familiar four spot instead of at the three. The way Davis can get to rebounds and make some shots is just jaw dropping.

Yes Kalani Brown is huge and stocky! She is going to be great when she figures out what to do!

I'm guessing we will have Empress guarding Jones when we play BU. Hopefully, Empress will also have a good offensive game.

probably mix and match on the guards like we do now. What will be interesting will the post battles. We will not have a height advantage as we normally do. But, Imani and Kelsey might see one on one defense instead. The biggest question for me is whether we will see LaShann for more than a handful of minutes. Whatever is holding her back, I hope she overcomes it soon.

But first up is ISU. 3 schools at 2-0 -- Texas, ISU, and TCU -- and 2 of the schools meet on Wednesday. ISU is always a tough match-up for Texas. ISU put the clamps on Brittney Martin. I am glad we are facing ISU first at home.

Anyone catch the interview with Odyssey? The guy who was calling the game with Debbie Antonelli introduced her to the TV audience as "Empress Davenport". He apologized to her a couple of minutes later.

missed that. :smile1: Bet Sims wasn't too happy with that.
But I have noticed that announcers make a lot of mistakes for some reason. Like they didn't bother to do their homework on the teams.

i heard that too. I think some of the male announcers really don't want to be announcing women's game because it is obvious that they do not do their homework.

Oh,0h, my sides hurt from laughing. Thanks.

Empress and Odyssey obviously know each other well. They come from the same AAU program, but i think Odyssey played a year or two before Empress.

This is where we fell apart last year! But this looks like a different team. A lot more confidence and leadership. The first test will be here Wednesday as we lost to ISU twice last year. We have to stop there 3 point shooters!
